Board meeting minutes of Milwaukee Area Woodturners September 10, 2012

In attendance: Jon Behnke, Dave Drickhamer, Sandy Sheahan, Jerry Tackes, Char Dee Woodcraft will be having a Turn-4-Troops September 15. We are looking into a better system for mounting cameras and lights on the lathe for demos. Char will talk with Rob Nelson as to where to purchase the system. Should we continue to require AAW membership if the insurance does not cover us at meetings? There is $2917.60 in the check book. The board approved the purchase of 50 LED lights from IKA. These light are very useful in the shop. The light will then be available to club members for $15. Empty Bowls will be October 13. Please bring in bowls for donations to the next meeting. The library will start charging a $2.00 fine for items returned late. The fee will go in effect the second month the item is late. The fee will be used for new items for the library. The demo committee has contacted several turners about demos. Allen Lacer is available for March . Is there an interest for turning/mentoring on weekends? Next month there will be nominations for two positions for the board.
