    RHODE ISLAND

    Rhode Island is one of the 13 colonies. It was founded by Roger Williams in 1836. It started off by being a shipping port but now its home to shipbuilders, sailors, traders, and fisherman. Rhode Island was founded for religious freedom for Baptist, Quackers, Anglicans, Puritans, and Congregationalists.

    One of the best colonies

    Rhode island was also famous for blacksmithing. They had school for that to teach kids how to forge some objects in to swords, shield and knives. Those school only accepted boys though. They also had trading schools they were teaching kids what to trade and what not to trade back then.

    The founder of Rhode Island was Roger Williams but there was also another helper in Rhode Island Joseph Whipple. Roger William got kicked out of massachutts then found Rhode island. Joseph whipple was a deputy of Rhode island he help out a lot.

    He was a wealthy merchant before he became deputy of Rhode island he gave a lot of money to help out with Rhode island to build its community back then. In Rhode island the soil was red because the climate back then changed the

    soil but thanks the red soil the trees were good for shipbuilding. They used the trees a lot to build whatever they needed. Like school for blacksmithing and trading schools.
