A Quick Introduction...
September has flown by, and things are running smoothly here in Pre-K. The students are getting used to the daily routines, besides the fact that it cuts into some of their usual nap times! :) September was a very busy month, as it always is. October will be a bit calmer now that things have settled in. The school is having an A.R reading night on Thursday the 18th at 7 p.m., and the Pre-ks are more than welcome to come. If you ever have a question, concern, or are just wondering how your child is doing, don't hesitate to speak with me, or drop me an email. Have a nice Thanksgiving , Ms. Hofer

The Theme of the Month: Fall and Thanksgiving

The theme of this month will be based around Fall and Thanksgiving. This is an exciting unit because it allows us to explore the changes that are happening outside. We will be going for fall walks with our buddies, talking about what these weather changes mean for the animals, and doing other fall related activities. Thanksgiving will also be a focus for the month, as we discuss the things that we are thankful for. A few outcomes for this theme include: discovery, exploration, socialization, and literacy skills.

Show and Share Schedule

Below is a schedule for the Pre-K Show and Share. Your childs job that day is to bring one small item to show the class and share something about it. Please pay attention to the date that your child is scheduled.

Welcome to The Arts Ed. Corner

Set out a piece of yarn for each color of paint you intend to use. Have your child dip the yarn in one color of paint, and run it across the paper. Use a new piece of yarn for a different color. You can also talk about symmetrical art, where something is the same on both sides. Do it on one side of the paper, then try folding it in half. The picture to the right was done by a Pre-K from last year.

Family Day The plan for our October family day is to go to Pumpkin Hollow in Lumsden. This will be free of charge, however, you will need to find a way there. A note will be coming out next week in regards to transportation. When: October 26th @ 1:15 P.M. Where: Pumpkin Hollow (Lumsden) I hope to see you there!
