Part 1: Capacitance according to distance between the plates of a parallel-plate capacitor 1. Place the capacitor plates so that they are 0.5 cm away from each other. 2. Measure the capacitance of the capacitor 3. Repeat at least 3 times and start again with the plates at 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 4, 5 and 6 cm from each other. Part 2: Experimental Values of the Dielectric Constant of Different Materials 1. 2. 3. 4. Measure the thickness of the object. Measure the capacitance with the object between the plates. Measure the capacitance at the same distance, but without the object in between Divide the value of the capacitance with the object between the plates with the one without an object. 5. Repeat at least 3 times for each material.
