FIELD OVERVIEW

Innovative technology (mechanic, chemical, or electronic) doesnt only increase productivity and standards of living in developed countries. Engineering can be used to develop and improve products and systems for developing countries and for organizations trying to help the people there. With the right implementation and distribution, engineering projects have helped build everything from low energy water pumps to energy-providing playground equipment.

MODEL IN THE FIELD

Dr. Amadei has taught civil engineering at University of Colorado since 1982. Nine years ago he focused on founding Engineers Without Borders(EWB), now a nationDR. BERNARD AMADEI wide organization. Dr. Amadei works to create communitydriven development programs worldwide by collaborating with local partners to design and implement sustainable engineering projects. His work professionally and with EWB has implemented socially beneficial devices like water pumps, touched over 40 countries, and won him the Hoover Medal in Engineering.
