ISSUE 19 October 2012 Dear LSR Member, This has been a very eventful week! Techmeetups are happy to announce that we have paired with Angelhack for their London 2012 Hackathon! The date of the hackathon has now changed from our original date of November 16-18 to November 10-11. We made the choice to join forces with Angelhack to provide the best experience and resources to our community members. This hackathon will be even bigger and better than ours from last year. For those who have already purchased tickets: if the date change causes any issues with your ability to attend, please let us know and you will be refunded. We apologize for any inconvenience, but we did the change in the best interest of our community! We are thrilled to welcome Budapest to our Techmeetups community! Budapest are our newest addition and we can't wait for them to get involved. We are constantly growing within each community and expanding to other cities. We are confident that we will reach our goal of 20 cities by 2012. Techmeetups are rapidly approaching our mark of reaching 3,000 members in our London Silicon Roundabout community. When we hit that huge milestone, we are going to host a party at El Paso, where our LSR group first started(aww!) Guru Program This week were delighted to tell you about two successful tech entrepreneurs from London and San Francisco have joined the Guru Program to share their Founder stories and expertise during the three-month course. Adam Baker, Founder, Blottr (London) Adam has founded three internet companies, including Blottr, the user generated news service which enables anyone to report news as they witness it. Hell be dedicating his time on the program to guiding you through the steps he took at Blottr to keep operations lean before the company had proven their concept and was ready to seek funding with proven traction behind them. Lukas Biewald, Co-Founder & CEO, CrowdFlower (San Francisco) Lukas has grown CrowdFlower, a microtask crowdsourcing company, into the industry leader in just four years. As well as sharing war stories from his journey to this great
