Constitution of the Student Association Faith Baptist Bible College 2000 I.

Name: The name of this organization shall be: Student Association of Faith Baptist Bible College. Membership: Membership in this organization is automatically bestowed upon all Faith Baptist Bible College students who are enrolled for at least six semester hours. Purpose: The purpose of the Student Association shall be to represent the student body and to promote social and spiritual activities for its members. This purpose is to be fulfilled through the representative operation of the Student Council, working in cooperation with the administration and faculty, and acting in the interests of the student body in all matters relative to the student body both as a whole and as individuals.

SA Officers and Duties: A. The officers of this association shall be President, Vice-President, Chaplain, Secretary, and Treasurer, and shall form the executive cabinet of the Student Association. These officers shall be elected annually by the Student Association as prescribed in the Bylaws. B. Eligibility requirements shall be: 1. 2. The president must be a male student who shall serve as chairman of the Student Association and Council; chair all business meetings, call special meetings of the cabinet, council, or the Student Association to carry on business activities, and be ex-officio on all standing committees of the Student Association. He is responsible to see that the organizations purpose is carried out in accordance with the standards of Faith Baptist Bible College. D. The Vice-President must be a male student who shall serve as chairman of the Social committee, assume the responsibilities of the presidency in case of the withdrawal from school or the resignation of the President, chair all meetings of the Student Council and the Student Association in the absence of the President, and shall perform all other duties that might be properly assigned to him by the Student Council. The Chaplain must be a male student who shall serve as chairman of the Spiritual Life committee, plan regular Student Association chapels, plan a Day of Prayer each semester, and perform all other duties that might be properly assigned to him by the Student Council. F. The Secretary shall be the keeper of all records, be responsible for the minutes of the Student Council and Student Association, see that the Deans and college President receive a copy of the minutes, and perform all other duties as instructed by the Student Council. G. The Treasurer shall chair the Publicity committee, be responsible for receiving and dispensing all monies as directed by the Student Council, assume the duties of the Secretary in the absence of the Secretary, and perform all other duties as instructed by the Student Council. V. SA Representatives: A. Qualifications: The representatives shall consist of a male and female from each of the Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes, elected by their classes. A Sophomore

must have attained 24 credit hours, a Junior must have attained 59 credit hours, and a Senior must at registration be anticipating sufficient credit hours for graduation that year from a 4-year degree course of study. They must have an accumulative grade point average of 2.0. B. Duties: The representatives shall represent the desires of their class in the Student Council meetings, report Council action to his class and shall work in the committees of the Student Association.

Student Council: A. Members: The council shall consist of the cabinet and the Student Association representatives, numbering 13 persons. The Associate Dean of Men shall be the advisor of this council. Duties: The council shall handle all routine matters of the Student Association through its committees, and shall represent the student body in all matters relative to the faculty, administration, Board of Directors, or outside parties.

Committees: The following committees shall be responsibly to the Student Council, and they must receive authorization for activities and expenditures through the Council. In the best interest of the organization, the council reserves the right to change the membership of the committees at any time. A. Social Committee: This committee shall consist of four members of the Student Council. A representative from the Sophomore, Junior, and Senior classes shall be appointed by the Student Council no later than the first week of May. A representative from the Freshman class of the following year shall be appointed by the Council within one month of registration. This committee shall plan and execute social gatherings. Spiritual Life Committee: This committee shall consist of two representatives chosen by the Student Council. The purpose of this committee shall be to promote special activities to encourage the spiritual life and welfare of the student body. Such special activities would consist of setting aside, with approval of the administration, days of prayer, SA chapels, and seek to encourage the devotional life and Bible study life of each member of the student body. Publicity Committee: This committee shall consist of two representatives chosen by the Student Council. The Publicity committee shall promote activities and events of the

Student Association through posters, displays, and printed matter. All material must be approved by the Student Personal Office before distribution. These duties shall not include the publicity for regular school events of which other publicity is provided. D. Auditing Committee: The President of the Student Council shall nominate from the Student Association an auditing committee of two persons who shall audit the financial records of the Student Council Treasurer at the close of each semester and who shall make a written report which shall be posted on the bulletin boards at the college. Intramurals Committee: This committee shall consist of four members of the Student Council. This committee has responsibility of planning and executing all intramural activities.

VIII. Adoption: This constitution shall be adopted by the approval of the full-time faculty, the President of the administration, and three-fourths majority vote of the student body. IX. Bylaws: A. Approbation of the bylaws: Bylaws may be added to this constitution and amended when such proposed action has the approval of the President and/or administration of the college, posted on the bulletin boards of the college and announced publicly in a regular chapel two weeks prior to voting on such additional bylaws or amendments. A simple majority in favor of the measure shall be necessary for its adoption as part of the bylaws of the constitution of the Student Association. Nomination of the officers: The Council will serve as the nominations committee and be guided by a list of eligible students. In order to understand the desire of the student body, a survey will be conducted by an informal nomination ballot given in a regular chapel. The representatives shall contact those eligible students whose names have been raised for nomination. Those who accept the nomination will be included on the ballot. The nomination process would be repeated until the ballot contains at least two names per office. These elections will be conducted by secret ballot during the month of April. Resignations: Should a cabinet member resign, this student shall be replaced by the same process as in the April elections. Should a representative resign, the class from which the student came shall replace that individual.

Meetings: The Student Council is responsible to meet once a semester with the entire Student Association to report, evaluate, explain, and discuss the progress of the organization. This meeting should be planned near the middle of the semester. Amendments: A. Financial policy that limits the Student Council in the expenditure of funds to $500 on any one item, excepting the expenditure for the student body project or other Dean approved activity. B. This constitution should be evaluated every other year to weigh the effectiveness in meeting the needs of this organization. C. One-quarter of all married students Student Association funds shall be designated to the account of the Families of Faith to be used for their annual Spring Banquet. D. Twenty percent of all student fees given to the Student Association shall be designated as scholarship for the President of the Council in appreciation for the time and work devoted to service for the students. This would be given at the end of the year upon review of his work by the Student Council and the Associate Dean of Men.
