For many, photography is more than just looking through a lens and clicking a shutter

Looking through the lens

I
t's not your first nor second time taking a photo; I'm pretty sure you take photos once a day, whether it's a photo of your family and friends, your surroundings, or even a self-portrait. Taking photos is a fun and entertaining way of keeping track of memories. Especially in this generation where you can share your photos with friends on social networking sites such as Facebook and/or Twitter. You may ask yourself, how is photography important? Instead ask yourself, how is photography not important? That is a tough question to answer because photography is a skill used almost everywhere. Photography is used from advertisements and news stories to scrapbooking and Facebook. If there were no photography, we would not be able to imagine what Ireland looks like. Photography gives people the feeling of knowing what the world looks like. said Mrs. Trambley, Digital Photography teacher. Photography gives people the opportunity to view the world in a whole different way. Photography allows people to appreciate the smallest things in life. Photography is about learning to appreciate the true detail of an object/ creature. Photography is not just snapping a picture with a camera, its much more than, that. It's about noticing the detail and color that makes a picture worth taking. Photography is about capturing a picture at the right time. Knowing what to take a picture of is easy, the challenge is knowing how to capture it. It has been said before that a picture is worth a thousand words. Photography is a visual language that uses sight rather than sound. Story by: Crystal Morales
