Children of the corn In the opening of children of the corn the title sequence is made to look the colour of corn in fields. As each of the titles change you can hear the sound of the scythe in the fields like the titles are being cut. As the creepy music plays establishing shots of corn fields and combine harvesters are shown this allows you to know that the film is set in corn fields. The lighting in the shot of the corn fields is dark and looks like it has been taken during dawn of dusk. In the shot of the combine harvester the sky is blue and it looks like a cold winter morning. This then moves on to a shot of a church and some people coming out of the church as the service has just finished. As they walk out of the church a little boys voice over comes on and tells you what is happening and why this is happening like this. Long shots are used as you can see all the people walking out of the church and making their way home. There is very faint background music being played as the little boy and his dad walk down the steps and into the caf. Long shots are used here as you can see everyone in the caf. The characters are wearing old clothes which gives you a feel that scythes would still of been around this time instead of combine harvesters. A shot of the little boys sister who is sick in bed is then shown with pictures she has drawn around her. There
