Introduction
AMOLED displays hold promise as a next generation flat panel display, based on its superior visual performance. A transient charge feedforward driver (TCFD) is presented for high-speed current-mode data driving in AMOLED displays. a 7 s driving speed is achieved for 20 nA of data current. driving speeds are almost constant for column line conditions up to 6 kohm and 40 pF.

Analog Voltage and Current-mode Driving

fundamental driving scheme from all the driving schemes for AMOLED displays, as well as for AMLCDs the effects of other pixel-to-pixel variations, despite the simplicity of the driving scheme and operation. analog current-mode driving (ACMD) methods - pixel circuits can provide the best performance in terms of the displayed image quality.

The generalized concept of Feedback drivers

Feedback drivers
enhance the speed and accuracy of transfers from the data current (IDATA) to the pixel current (IPIXEL). include a control loop - a driving signal path and a sensing signal path that monitors and controls the data transfer state. a line driving circuit to overcome the loading effect of the CPP

The Feedforward-mode driving

Balaji BS, I sem M.Tech, SJBIT (2009-2010).

Feedforward-mode driving
the column line (CL) is driven by a merged current composed of the IDATA and the required transient-charging current (IRTC). the speed and accuracy of feedforward-mode driving is determined by that of the IRTC generation more advantageous than feedback-mode driving - fundamental driving speed limitations, stability problems, and sensing speeds.

impediment of the driving speed results in a delay in the transfer of IDATA to IPIXEL and originates from the transient data current loss to the CPP fast transfers of IDATA to IPIXEL, the column line driving current (ICL) should have two components: IRTC and IDATA summing circuit outputs - IRTC and IDATA simultaneously the IDATA can be transferred to the IPIXEL without a significant delay or loss.

TCFD Application
One complete scan time (Trow) is composed of ESCAN (TESCAN), OSCAN (TOSCAN), two equalizations (TEQEN), and two scan stops (TSS), as shown in Fig. 5(b) EQEN provides average column line voltage of a column line. PCEN adjusts this average voltage.

TCFD Application
conventional current-mode column driver provides a breakthrough in driving speed the column driver with a TCFD provides improved area and power efficiencies. one TCFD can drive two column lines of a display panel by using the path exchangers.

The emulated pixel circuits served as I-V converters - representing the status of the transferred pixel currents during the data driving operation.

Loop Stability and Simulation

The open loop gain of the TCFD (LGTCFD) when the negative loop is enabled has a positive phase. The LGTCFD can be obtained by cutting the loop at p1p2, and is given by Eq. (1):

Loop Stability and Simulation

The LGTCFD has a very small DC gain, two poles, and two zeros. For simplicity, the transfer function of the amplifier is set to A(s) and the RPP is assumed to be zero. The node impedance at node zo,N1 is given by Eq. (2):
