CREATING SLIDESHOW WITH WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER

1. Save the images to be used for slideshow in a folder on your computer 2. Open Windows Movie Maker 3. Display Collections in main panel. (To make a new collection, click Collections button to display the Collections folders in left panel. Rt click on Collections folder Select New folder and name) To continue - Display Tasks in left panel by clicking on Tasks button.

4. NB Set the timing of picture duration for animation before importing images.
(Menu bar Tools/Options/Advanced/Picture Duration e.g. .375 seconds/Transition .25)

5. On Tasks pane click Import pictures 6. Browse to find folder of images, select images required. Click Import. 7. Select all the images in the Collections pane. (Edit/Select all). Click and drag the selected images to the Storyboard. Images may be deleted or moved to new positions on the Storyboard. Animation may now be viewed in the Preview window. 8. Click Make Titles or Credits - in the Edit Movie section of Tasks. Title slides may be created at the beginning or at any point in the animation. 9. Add Podcast. Podcast files should be prepared in advance and saved on the computer. (Windows Movie Maker will not accept midi sound files.) Click Import audio or music from the Tasks pane. Browse to locate the required music file. Select the file and click Import. The sound file will be imported into Collections . Or Add words to each picture by clicking on the picture, under edit movie click make titles or credits and then choose where you would like your writing to appear (on the picture, before or after) Use the text box to add the title. 10. Click Show Timeline to change Storyboard to Timeline and drag and drop the sound file into the beginning of the audio track of the Timeline. To trim the clip - click and drag from the end. 11. File / Save as project the animation may be saved as a project which can be opened and altered at any time 12. To save as a movie file (.wmv), click FINISH MOVIE Save to my computer.

(In more recent versions of MovieMaker click PUBLISH MOVIE to save as a .wmv file)
