What is a Movie Maker Software?


A software that allows you to create and edit videos. This program is manufactured by Microsoft
Windows and is available for free. Movie Maker is non-linear editing software, which means that the
original file that was placed on your hard drive will not be modified in any way. Movie Maker creates
its own distinct video file while you are editing, so that if you want, you can create several different
movies using the same footage. Various features of Movie Maker include time line narration, effects,
audio track, transitions, titles and credits.
Four main sections to the Movie Maker screen:
1: Task Frame;
2: Collection Frame;
3. Media Preview Pane; and
4: Storyboard and Timeline Frame.

How to use Windows Movie Maker


Step 1: Create a new project
It will auto-create a project with 16:9; you can change the ratio with click “File"-"New Project".

Step 2: Import media files


Click "+" to import video clips, and drag them to the timeline track.
Drag the video clips at the timeline video track, to make a movie storyboard.

You can add music or import from your folder (voice recording or any song choice).
Transitions (it will make each video clips trans more smooth)

Select filters to add the video clip, it will make the video clip more vivid.
Click the "overlays" icon, select the build-in overlayer video to add to any position, it will make some part of the video
more atmosphere.

Step 3: Export
Click the ”Export" button to export the video, select the format and size, and export it.

Edit name if must, and choose folder where to save the file.
After Exporting, file will take some time to finish.

Using Windows Movie Maker to Create Multimedia Presentations


Windows Movie Maker is a program included with Microsoft Windows. It allows you to make
multimedia presentations using graphics, sound, video, and titles. You can easily arrange your
multimedia files in a time line and save them as a movie that can play on any Windows computer.
Before you assemble your presentation in Windows Movie Maker (WMM), you should develop
an outline of what you want to present and then you should have the following saved in files you can
browse to
 Graphics, pictures or clip art (saved as jpgs or gif)
 Sound files (wav or mp3 files)
 Video files (avi, mpg files)
