Multimedia Software Tools: A Quick Scan
For a concrete appreciation of the current
state of multimedia software tools available
for carrying out tasks in multimedia, we now
include a quick overview of software
categories and products.
These tools are really only the beginning—a
fully functional multimedia project can
also call for stand-alone programming as
well as just the use of predefined tools to
fully exercise the capabilities of machines
and the Internet.
The categories of software tools we examine here are:
•Music Sequencing and Notation
•Digital Audio
•Graphics and Image Editing
•Video Editing
•Animation
•Multimedia Authoring.
MUSIC SEQUENCING AND
NOTATION
CAKEWALK PRO AUDIO
Cakewalk Pro Audio is a very straight
forward music-notation program for
“sequencing.”
The term sequencer comes from
older devices that stored sequences
of notes in the Musical Instrument
Digital Interface (MIDI) music
language.

Activity: Audio Recording and Editing
• Write a script in introducing yourself and your interests. You may act as a vlogger or radio
broadcaster, anything that suites your idea making your introduction interesting. 2-3 mins will
do.
• Download “Lexis Audio Editor” on you phones
• Record your introduction and edit it by cutting some of mistakes you had recorded. Watch a
youtube https://tinyurl.com/yxdysd6r, just click the link on how to edit the audio.
• Download a free background music (no copyright) you download here at
https://tubidy.mobi/free-3gp-video/Tubidi+com but please don’t click the advertisements.
Sample “free background music for vlogs”
• Blend the background music that you had downloaded to the recording that you had made.
Save it as .mp3 for final your final output.
Tips in making the recording:
• Try to get a sample recording first by setting up “Rec Vol” or record volume (try +10db to
+15db) first to get the best recording volume according to your recording environment to
avoid noise.
• Finish first your self introduction and save it as .mp3 so that it would not mix into other files.
• Edit the downloaded background music, reduce its noise to the point that it will not overlap
your voice and save it to a different file name. Example: “mybackground.mp3”.
• In blending it, open/import the file background music first and place it where you want to start
your final recording then import/mix press “mixes the current file with another file” which is the
self introduction recording that you had made. Tweak it until you are satisfied then save your
final output.
• Remember that we cannot get the perfect recording, your not in the recording studio. As you
record you will know that I meant. And then so I will not expect a perfect recording. Just have
fun guys! :D
