    Along time ago Paris


    The History of Paris Spans over 2,000 years. This City grew to the capital and primate city of France after a small Gallic settlement. It further developed a center of art, medicine, science, fashion, tourism, high culture, and high finance, becoming worlds major global cities.

    Paris Ancient Place


    Paris was founded in about 250bc by a Celtic tribe called the Parisii. The le de la Cit traditionally assumed to be the location of the settlement. Paris lands were prosperous, and occupied a strategic position, controlling river shipping

    Years Later
    In March 2001, Paris voted for a left-wing mayor for the first time since 1871. Socialist Bertrand Delanoe is the first openly gay man to hold such a high public position in France. His election was widely seen as a rejection by the electorate of the corruption of the Chirac era.
