Rut of Adversity

Rut of Adversity
40

And it came to pass, that, when Jesus was returned, the people gladly received him: for they were all waiting for him. 41 And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus' feet, and besought him that he would 42 come into his house: For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying. But as he went the people thronged him.

Rut of Adversity
43 And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, 44 Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched. 45 And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

Rut of Adversity
46 And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me. 47 And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him, and how she was healed immediately. 48 And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace. Luke 8:40-48

Histemi
A prolonged form of a primary stao, stah'-o (of the same meaning, and used for it in certain tenses); to stand, used in various applications (literal or figurative) : - abide, appoint, bring, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, lay, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up) - Strong's Talking Greek & Hebrew Dictionary

And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right 7 hand was withered. And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find 8 an accusation against him. But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth (histemi) in the midst.

Rut of Adversity
And he arose and stood forth. Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save 10 life, or to destroy it? And looking round about upon them all, he said unto the man, Stretch forth thy hand. And he did so: and his hand was restored whole as the other.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the 11 Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the 12 wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world,

against spiritual wickedness in high 13 places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and 14 having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

And your feet shod with the 16 preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench 17 all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

Rut of Barrenness

Rut of Barrenness
6 He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. 7 Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground?

Rut of Barrenness
8 And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: 9 And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down. Luke 13:6-9

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of 16 truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 2 Timothy 2:15-16

And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, 2 The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which 3 made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to 4 the wedding: and they would not come. Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed,

Rut of Barrenness
and all things are ready: come unto the 5 marriage. But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to 6 his merchandise: And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, 7 and slew them. But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city.

Rut of Barrenness
8

Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were 9 bidden were not worthy. Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall 10 find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

Rut of Barrenness
11

And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding 12 garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding 13 garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing 14 of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen. Matthew 22:1-14

Rut of Barrenness
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry: 13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet. 14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.

Rut of Barrenness
15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; 16 And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. 17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

Rut of Barrenness
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. 19 And when even was come, he went out of the city. 20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

Rut of Barrenness
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. 23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Mark 11:12-23

Rut of Plateauing

Rut of Plateauing
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? 19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. 20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.

Rut of Plateauing
21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. 22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. 23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. 24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!

Rut of Plateauing
25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. 26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? 27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. 28 Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.

Rut of Plateauing
29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God's sake, 30 Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting. Luke 18:18-30

Rut of Plateauing
14

For the kingdom of heaven is as a man travelling into a far country, who called his own servants, and delivered unto them his 15 goods. And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and 16 straightway took his journey. Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents.

Rut of Plateauing
17

And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. 18 But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, 19 and hid his lord's money. After a long time the lord of those servants cometh, and 20 reckoneth with them. And so he that had received five talents came and brought other five talents, saying, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me five talents: behold, I have gained beside them five talents more.

Rut of Plateauing
21

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the 22 joy of thy lord. He also that had received two talents came and said, Lord, thou deliveredst unto me two talents: behold, I have gained two other talents beside them.

Rut of Plateauing
23

His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of 24 thy lord. Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:

Rut of Plateauing
25

And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is 26 thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and 27 gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.

Rut of Plateauing
Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. 29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be 30 taken away even that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25:14-30
