THE PROPOSED DESIGN KERNS METHOD

Fixed and U-tube head,1-shell pass,1-tube passes. 898 stainless steel tubes,4.88 m long, 20 mm OD,14.83 mm ID, triangular pitch, pitch 25 mm. Heat transfer area =272 m2 Shell i.d.830.5 mm, baffle spacing 332 mm, 25% cut. Tube side coefficient 515.089W/m2 oC Shell side coefficient 3584.11W/m2 oC UO assumed 190 W/m2 oC ,UO estimated 185W/m2 oC Pressure drop of tube side = 0.02667bar, Pressure drop of shell side = 0.3843bar (specified .8bar overall)
