The males studied: Psychology, History, Maths, Psychics, English Literature, and Product Design. The females studied: Psychology, History, English Literature, Philosophy and Ethics.

All participants live in surrey. 3 males and 2 females live in Banstead. 1 Male and 1 female live in Tadworth. 2 Males and 1 female live in Croydon.

2 Males and 1 female know something about the social realism genre. 4 males and 3 females don't know anything about the social realism genre. The three people know that social realism involves social issues, representation of a social type or place, and is often about the working class.

Out of the three people who knew social realism, only one said they enjoyed it. Stating that 'social realism is good because it shows you people and issues that would usually be left alone. They interest you'. The people who don't enjoy social realism said it was because 'they can often be boring. However, they can sometimes surprise you'.

Social realism could be made more enjoyable/accessible by 'representing something that is thought of as taboo, or strange'. They should 'surprise you, and 'hold your interest throughout by using elements of different genres, such as: mystery, and comedy'.
