In order To have difficulties in life, all it is necessary to do is to start run ning away from the business of livingness. After that, problems of unsolvable ma gnitude are assured. The whole trick of somebody telling you it s all bad over there is contained in the fact that he is trying to keep you from CONFRONTING something and thus make you retreat from life. 1. Try and reason with the reactive mind, go Ahead just try your best. The react ive mind is DESIGNED to DERANGE. 1a.The GREATEST ability of THOUGHT is DIFFERENTIATION. 1a. There is freedom amongst barriers. If the barriers are known and the freedom s are known there can be life, living, happiness: A GAME. 2.Therefore, the highest ability in playing a game would be the ability to know the rightness and wrongness rules of that particular game. the playing of the game requires a HIGH ABILITY to differentiate, particularly it requires an ability to know the rules and the right-rules and the wrong-rules. 2a. The thing to do to free him from a tr_p is to have him find what PARTS of th e tr_p he himself is willing to CREATE, own, have or possess. This places the ba rriers (which can be spaces, energy movements or obstacles) under his control, and his postulating that he can have or possess this or that causes him to be willing to be or occupy the tr_p. The MOMENT this occurs he is no longer in the tr_p, or e ven if he is still in it to some degree he does not object to it and can leave i t when he wishes. 3.The anatomy of entrapment is an interesting one, and the reason why people get entrapped, and indeed, the TOTAL mechanics of entrapment, are now understood. a great deal of experimentation was undertaken to determine the factors which re sulted in entrapment, and it was discovered that the answer to the ENTIRE proble m was TWO-WAY COMMUNICATION. Roughly, the laws back of this are: fixation occurs in the presence of ONE-WAY

communication. Entrapment occurs only when one has not given or received answers to the things entrapping him. It could be said that ALL the entrapment there is is THE WAITING one does for an answer. The remedy for this, of course, is to have him remedy his lack of answers by hav ing him MOCK UP answers. 3c. To have difficulties in life, all it is necessary to do is to start running away from the business of livingness. After that, problems of unsolvable magnitu de are assured. 4. A man who is willing to ACCEPT restrictions and barriers, and is NOT AFRAID o f them, is free. A man who does nothing but fight restrictionS and barrierS ( i. e cannot control the barriers) will usually be trapped. 4a. If one seeks to get rid of something continually, one admits continually tha t he cannot confront it and thus everyone went down hill. Life became a dwindling spiral of more things we could not confront. 4b. NOBODY else can do ANYTHING to you, but YOU.That is a horrible state of affa irs. YOU can do something to you, but it requires YOUR postulate, your agreement or your disagreement, before anything can happen to you. People have to agree t o be ill; they have to agree to be stupid; 4c. An individual HAS to POSTULATE into existence his own aberration, his own fl inch, his own stupidity, his own lack of confidence, and his own bad luck. 5.One who is plotting continually how to get out of things will be miserable. On e who is plotting how to get INTO things has a much better chance of becoming ha ppy. 5a.The whole trick of somebody telling you it s all bad over there is contained in the fact that he is trying to keep you from CONFRONTING something and thus make you retreat from life. 5b. If ever once a man were to realize with accuracy what he was, if he were to realize what other people sought to make him, if he could attain this knowledge with gre at certainty, there are no chains strong enough to prevent his escaping; for such would be his astonishment that he would brave anything to become something bett er than what he had beheld in his own heart. 1. Certainty/Uncertainty: Such a state can be remedied. One merely causes the in dividual to observe in terms of the three universes. own, mest, others.

2.we call this condition the only one . Here is selfish determinism in the guise of self-determini sm... To enjoy life one must be willing to be some part of life. 3.Although man continually uses Freedom for his war cry he only succeeds in establishing FURTHER entrapment for himself. The reason for this is a very simpl e one. A GAME consists of freedom AND barriers and purposes. When man DROPS the IDEA of restrictions or barriers he LOSES at once CONTROL over barriers. He beco

mes self-determined about barriers and not pan-determined (i.e. freedom + barriers/restrictions ), thus he cannot contr ol the barriers. 1.Now here is a process known as Take a Walk . This process is very easy to perform . When one feels tired on finishing his work, no matter if the thought of doing so is almost all that he can tolerate without falling through the floor, he should go out and wal k around the block until he feels rested. In short, he should walk around the block and LOOK at things until he sees the things he is walking near. It does not matter how ma ny times he walked around the block, he should walk around the block until he fe els better. In doing this it will be found that one will become a little brighter at first a nd then will become very much MORE tired. He will become sufficiently tired that he knows now that he should go to bed and have a good night s sleep. This is NOT the time to s top walking since he is walking THROUGH EXHAUSTED. He is walking out his exhaust ed. He is not handling the exhaustion by physical exercise. The physical exercis e has always appeared to be the more important factor to people but the exercise is relatively unimportant. The factor that is IMPORTANT is the unfixing of his attention from his work to the material world in which he is living. 2.Therefore walking around the block and LOOKING at buildings will be found to b ring one UPSCALE. When one is so tired that he can barely drag himself around, o r is so tired that he is hectically unable to rest at all, it is actually necess ary that he confront masses. 3.He is simply LOW on the Scale. 4, Look them over principle: Fixed attention, then, upon a few people can actually limit the number of people one c an have , which is to say, limits one s reality on people in general. 5. The cure for this is a very simple one. One should go to a place that is very well populated such as a railroad station or a main street and should simply walk alo ng the street noting people. Simply look at people -- that is all. It will be found after a wh ile that one feels people aren t so bad and one has a much kinder attitude towards them and, more imp ortantly, the job condition of becoming overstrained with people tends to go awa y if one makes a practice of doing this every late afternoon for a few weeks. 6.The principle is very simple: when an individual is made too introverted thing s become less real in his surroundings and he has less affinity for them and cannot communicate with them well. Furthermore, what does communicate is apt to communicate at his lowered Tone Scale so that even good news will be poorly rece ived by him. In such a condition he becomes tired easily. Introversion results in wearin ess, exhaustion and then an inability to work. The remedy for it is extroversion , a good look at and communication with the wider environment,
