WL556E Unable to open GUI using Windows 7 laptop

This is caused by multiple connections detected by your Windows 7 PC/laptop. You may follow the instructions given in this document if you are unable to open http://10.0.10.254 on your web browser to access the GUI for initial configuration on your WL556E.

Check the following settings on your PC/laptop:

1. Press the Reset button for 5 seconds to restore the WL556E to its default factory configuration

2. Ensure that all open applications on your PC/laptop are closed including your web browser.

3. Disable the Wireless connection on your PC/laptop.

4. Ensure that your PC/laptop is not using a Static IP address. Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings > Right click Local Area Connection > click on Properties > Double click on Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/Ipv4) > Make sure that Obtain an IP address automatically is selected.

5. Verify that your PC is able to obtain an IP address from the WL556E wireless-N repeater. Click Start > All Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Type ipconfig and press Enter
