1. Explain the nature and linkages of MS, LRHTS, DC and SRHTS problems. (6) 2. For the following 2 bus problem, evaluate the slack bus loss penalty factor and evaluate one iteration of ED. The data for the problem is as follows. (8) Fl= 1 + Pg] +3 Pg~ ' F2= 1 + 0.5 Pg2 + 0.5 Pg~ Initial guess corresponds to the Ed case without losses. The system data is as follows. All data is in p.u. Will the final solution be affected by the choice of initial guess? (6)

3. Explain the real power loss minimization OPF solution using Newton's method. Use the 2 bus problem in Q 2 for the explanation. The PV bus settings are the only control variables. Justify you,choice of equality constraints.
