NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION

NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION is an enterprise of Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), under the Ministry of Science and Technology Government of India, specially created in 1953 to serve as a technology transfer organization. Since its inception, the Corporation has established linkages with a large number of technology generating agencies and has become a repository of indigenous technologies generated at various Govt. funded R&D institutes and private institutions. The Corporation receives on a regular basis new technologies from R&D Institutions in different fields.

NRDC acts as an effective catalyst in translating innovative research into marketable industrial processes and is a nodal agency for the development, promotion and transfer of technologies.

NRDC works in close conjunction with over 200 R & D laboratories and has licensed over 4500 technologies for commercial exploitation. Technologies licensed by NRDC cover areas such as chemicals, drugs and pharmaceuticals, food, agro-processing, bio-technology, metallurgy, electronics, instrumentation, building materials, manufacturing techniques and utility processes including pollution control.

NRDC nurtures new ideas and inventions by providing rewards; ensuring intellectual property protection; efficiently effecting transfer of know-how from laboratories to industry; providing access to new technologies from India and abroad; exporting Indian technological expertise and offering an array of technology consultancy services.

The Corporation has been exporting proven technologies and services to entrepreneurs / industries both in the developed as well as the developing countries. It has so far exported technologies to several countries like USA, Germany, Malaysia, Burma, Nepal, Senegal, Indonesia, Madagascar, Philippine, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Brazil and Bangladesh.
