The person on the other line was speaking when he started shouting. “You expect me
to take YOU back. Are you delirious? Come off my line Now.” He locked off.
He leaned against the wall and closed his eyes. I got out of bed and hugged him
from behind. Nakedness and all. “What’s the matter?” he didn’t answer so I didn’t
ask any more. I didn’t want to probe him. “Basically, my ex she was pregnant for
me and she decided she didn’t want the baby so she went ahead and had an abortion
without me knowing; she bells my line today after how many months and tells me she
wants to get back together with me. I found out about the abortion because my
grandma worked there. If it weren’t for her I wouldn’t have known.” “I’m sorry.”
“So am I. So am I.” He turned around and stared down at me. “I’m sorry she had to
kill our mood.” I smiled. “It doesn’t have to end now…” he smiled and picked me
up. “I’m really feeling you and I want to give this relationship ting a try. Wah
you saying?” “Umm…” “What’s umm?” I laughed and bit my lip. “Umm yes or umm no?”
“Umm yes?” “Mariah, speak ENGLISH. Yes or no?” “yes.” I smiled. We started kissing
and he threw me on my bed softly. He stopped in his tracks. “What?” “Your boobs, I
like when they jiggle.” I started laughing while he grinned at me. “It’s true
doh!” I laughed again. “You weirdo.” He laughed for a second time. He sat on the
bed. I was wondering something. “I beg you take off your shirt please.” I thought
he would ask why but he didn’t. He just did it. I knew my suspicions were right.
He was packing. He had a tattoo right above where his heart was. It was a small
angel and the name “Kasey.” “Who’s Kasey?” “My little sister she died a year ago.
Leukemia.” “I’m sure she’s smiling down at you now from heaven.” “Let’s hope not!
This is my private space.” I smiled and so did he. All of a sudden we started
kissing again. He spent the rest of the day there just watching TV, cooking, and
laughing. He was the first boy I had ever gotten naked for and I still didn’t have
sex with him. Although it was tempting to the core. It was now 11o’clock. “O man,
look at the clock I have to go do a couple of tingz here and dere. I’ll holla at
you later.” “Umm ok.” He started laughing. “Umm bye.” He replied acting like me. I
clocked and punched him. “I hope it hurt.” “Nah it didn’t.” I punched harder and
he laughed harder. I decided to give up. He was now outside my door and I was
staring at him. “Bye then.” He bent his head and started kissing me again. I felt
dizzy. I broke the kiss, knowing that I couldn’t trust myself around him. He
grinned at me and walked to his car. I was still at my door staring at him. He
blew me a kiss and I blew him one back. His car sped off. I walked up to my
bedroom just in time to pick up his call. I smiled. “Don’t lie you miss me
already.” I laughed. I got in my bed and knew I was going to talk to him for the
rest of the night.
Maybe I was in love. Or just overly liked him. One thing was for sure, I couldn’t
get him out of my head.
