Dan Cahill is the narrator's favorite character from the book. He is mischievous and intelligent, remembering clues that help Dan and Amy solve mysteries. Two important events are Dan remembering a clue from a sword and tattoo that leads them closer to their goal, and Dan and Amy escaping a cave in Tokyo, Japan using explosives.
