Dear Parents/Guardians, This letter is to inform you that there are students in your childs classroom who have severe allergies to PEANUTS and TREE NUTS, MILK, SOY and EGGS. Strict avoidance of these allergens is the only way to prevent a LIFE TREATENING allergic reaction that could be fatal for these students. We are asking for your assistance in providing all students with a safe learning environment. Exposure to these allergens could result in a life threatening allergic reaction that requires emergency medical treatment. To reduce the chance of this occurring, please avoid sending in any of these products to be eaten in the classroom, specifically recess snacks. Although we would prefer lunches to be nut (allergen) free, accommodations will be made for those with nut allergies including sitting at the nut free table. These students will have the opportunity to have a friend with a nut (allergen) free lunch, join them. The danger of sharing or trading snacks should be discussed and discouraged. Your childs teacher and our staff will do all we can to keep every student safe. We would appreciate your cooperation. If you have any questions, please call me at 508-841-8706. Sincerely,

Mary Popp R.N.
