Faculty Development Programme (FDP) in Entrepreneurship- 201213 Entrepreneurship Development Initiatives in the universities and colleges: The economic

development of a Nation depends on its industrial development. The industrial development is based on the entrepreneurial competencies of the people. Hence, Entrepreneurship Promotion is a nation building exercise. The college and university teachers have a significant role in changing the attitude of the students from job seekers to job providers. Therefore, CED (Tamil Nadu) is training the teachers of the Science & Engineering Colleges, Polytechnics and Management Institutions to promote Entrepreneurship Initiatives among the students. The NGO professionals also are trained through this programme to train the rural youth in Entrepreneurship. More than 700 college teachers and NGO professionals have been trained by CED (Tamil Nadu) through the FDP. Components of the Training: Achievement Motivation Training Business Opportunity Guidance Preparing bankable business plan Information on Entrepreneurship Support Organizations Management Issues Technology Issues Interaction with successful entrepreneurs Laws and Regulations related to MSMEs Exposure Visit

Schedule of five FDPs for the current year 2012 13: Batc h I II III IV V Duration November 19, 2012 December 01, 2012 December 10 22, 2012 December 31, 2012 January 12, 2013 January 21, 2013 February 02, 2013 February 18, 2013 March 02, 2013 Venue All the FDPs will be conducted at CED (Tamil Nadu) training campus at Madurai. Lunch and mid session refreshments will be provided as part of the training.

Duration and Batch Size: Duration of the programme will be 12 days spreading over two weeks. The Training will be more interactive in nature and therefore, the batch size is confined to 25. Course fee : There is no course fee. The course material, mid session snacks will be provided as part of the programme. The outstation candidates can be offered residential programme at a nominal cost of Rs.3000/- for the 12 days.
