The general purpose of this assignment is to provide the opportunity for students to learn, apply and demonstrate their content and pedagogical knowledge related to the topic of fractions which is taught in Year Three mathematics. Specifically, this assignment requires the students to carry a thorough analysis of how each of the following sub-topics under the topic of fractions is typically taught and learned in the classroom (the current practice).

Your analysis should focus on the strengths and weaknesses of current practice. Based on the analysis, you are then required to suggest with justifications, an improved approach in teaching the concept of equivalent fractions. A detailed lesson plan should be included.
