Title – Amino Acid Therapy for ADHD

Short Description – ADHD is becoming more prevalent in our pediatric society. Brain chemistry
balance has a direct link to amino acid levels in the body. This lecture will review amino acid
testing protocols and the recent literature on therapeutic amino acids to treat ADHD.

Discuss physiology of amino acids and neurotransmitters.

Review of recent scientific literature on amino acid therapies – especially recent literature
on carnitine.

Biography – Dr. Jared M. Skowron is full-time faculty at University of Bridgeport Naturopathic


Medical College, teaching Pediatrics, CPD, Lab Dx, and EENT. He has recently completed a
textbook on Naturopathic Pediatrics, and is a national lecturer. His private practice is in
Wallingford, CT where he specializes in autism, PDD, ADHD, and other pediatric conditions.
