Firstly, we would like to introduce an instrument called the n bu (or the one-stringed zither).

The traditional n bu consists of a spout, a wooden rod, half of a coconut shell and a silk string. However, the modern n bu uses a wooden soundboard instead of a coconut shell and has tuning machines to aid in the adjusting of the pitch. It helps to bring out the music more effectively and it makes things more convenient for the player. The coconut shell acts as a resonance box, the spout, a flexible rod which changes the strings tension, is made of buffalo horn. The modern instruments tuning peg, which allows tuning of the pitch, is located at the bottom of the soundboard. This way, the sounds will be easily changed while the other hand bends the spout and plucks the strings on the soundboard while changing the tension to produce different sounds. The creativity in it was that the instrument was mostly made of natural materials that were no longer in use, like the dried bamboo and the coconut shell. This is eco-friendly and creative in the way that they use these resources to turn trash into treasure.
