Subscriber Charge Indication

1 Denition
With the feature Subscriber Charge Indication, a subscriber can have the charges incurred for a call transmitted in the form of meter pulses. The subscriber must be equipped with a suitable terminal for display of this information.

2 Mode of operation
The Subscriber Charge Indication feature transmits the charges incurred for a call as meter pulses over the subscriber line to the subscriber. The subscriber needs a telephone or additional device with a suitable display facility. In the case of a PBX, a separate charge indicator for each line is recommended rather than a joint one for all lines. The meter pulses can be converted into currency units by a logic in the telephone. The meter pulses are transmitted to the terminal at a frequency of 16 kHz or 12 kHz. The meter pulse frequencies lie outside of the voiceband and do not affect the speech connection. The pulse length is between 120 ms and 180 ms, and the minimum pause length is 250 ms. The pulses are transmitted at either a high level (5.2 V) or a low level (2.2 V). Silent reversal can also be used for pulse metering. The frequency, level and pulse length are project-specific and dependent on the individual operator.

3 Subscriber controlled input

Subscriber controlled input is not possible for this feature.

4 Call charge registration

Call charge registration is possible with: Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration Pulse Metering Flat rate Automatic Message Accounting with Individual Call Charge Registration (AMA) and Pulse Metering can be combined. One or more call charge pulses can be generated for pulse metering. Charges for feature input and feature usage The charges for operator inputs, successful subscriber controlled input and feature usage are assigned to the subscriber. The following call charge registration is possible: Facility input by operator (FAIO) Facility input by subscriber (FAIS) Facility usage (FAU) Action Activate Deactivate Enter data Delete data Assign authorization FAIO --------X FAIS ----------FAU -----------
