I have decided to change my genre of my music magazine from Jazz to Pop.

My initial thought of choosing the genre of jazz was because I liked that genre of music so it would be good to base my magazine on. After that I thought about my target audience and it was very narrow because it was only targeting the older generation. I then looked at existing jazz music magazines on the market and there were only a few so this could suggest that not many people are interested in buying this genre of music magazine. As a result of this I have now decided to base my magazine on the genre of pop. It has a broader target audience and I can be more creative with the magazine as it doesnt have a strict stereotypical look like jazz magazines do. It will also be easier when finding models for my magazine as most of my friends can pull of the mainstream pop look instead of old school jazz look.
