Whenyoufindyourselfwonderingoffinyourmindasitchattersaway....justseethatyouhave gottenofftrack..andgetbackontrack. ExitTechnique#3.6:00AMinthemorningmethod Setyouralarmclockfor6:00AMandgotobedbetween10:00and11:00PM.Whenyouwakeupat 6,walkaroundthehouse,watchT.V.,getonthecomputer,etc.for2030minutesuntilyoufeelfully awake.Thengobacktobed,asyoudriftintosleeptrytostayasawareaspossible.Whenyoureach thestatewhereyouarealmostdreaming,yetstillawake,thenyoucanletyourselffalltosleep.This maytakeafewdaystowork,butyoushouldwakeupinthedesiredtrancestateabout550minutes afteryouletyourselffalltosleep.Whenyoufindyourselfinthedesiredtrancestate,whereyou cantmoveandyouhearvibrations,youcanjustrolloveroutofyourbody.Besuretogetawayfrom yourbodybecauseitcanpullyoubackin. ExitTechnique#4.The6FeetMethod Soundssimpletodoasyoupictureyourselfabout6feetfromyourselfthen..transferyour consciencetothatform.,lookingaboutyouwiththeeyesofthatform.Thenvisualizethepersonor placethatyouwishtotraveltoo.Tovisitandcommunicatewithwhomyouwishtotalkto. Thissoundseasybuttakesalottovisualizeyourselfinanetherbody..withallthedeterminations youcanmusterandtransferyourwilltoit. ExitTechnique#5.Affirmation Yoursubconsciousmindisapowerfulthing,andyoucaninfluenceitbyrepetativesubtlenightly affirmations.Theseshouldbeverypositiveinnaturesoastodecreasefear,andincreaseyou subconsciouswilltoexperiencefullyconsciousastralprojection.Irecomendusingyourownwords astheywillhavethemostmeaningtoyou,howeverhereisonethatIwrotethatIfindparticularly effective. "Iamaspiritualbeing,andAstralProjectionisanaturalpartofwhoIam.WhenIfallasleeptonight,I willhaveanoutofbodyexperience,withnofears,andwhenIwishtoreturntomyphysicalbody,I willdosoeasily.WhenIawakenIwillremembertheeventinfulldetail,andwithelation." Everynightbeforeyougotosleep,recitetheaboveaffirmation(oryourown)toyourselfthree times.Forsomereasonthreeworksbetterthananyothernumber.Morethanthreetimesseemsto increaselossofinterest,andlessseemstonothaveasstrongeffectonthesubconscious,andafter all,thenumberthreeisbelievedtoholdsignifigantpower.Justbeforesleepalsoseemstobethe timewhenthemindseemsmostopentothepowerofsuggestion,andinfluencetothe subconscious. ExitTechnique#6.TheAnchorTechnique Thisisanotherpopulartechnique,whichproducesanethericprojection. Thebasisofthismethodistofocusonananchorpointoutsideofthephysicalbody.Therearetwo basicvariationstothistechniquethefixedanchor,andthemovinganchor. Aswithallthetechniquesdescribed,adeeplevelofrelaxationisrequired,anumberofrelaxation techniquescanbefoundhere. Onceyouhavereachedaverydeeplevelofrelaxation(trancestate),youmustthenuseyourpowers ofvisualisation. ExitTechnique#7.TheFixedAnchor Althoughnotmentionedasfrequentlyasthemovinganchortechnique,Ifindthistheeasierifthe twomethods. Afterreachingthetrancestate,focusonapointoutsideofthephysicalbody(e.g.attheendofthe bed).Youcaneithersimplyfocusonapointinspace,oryoucan(andIfindthismucheasier)imagine anobjectatthatpoint(itusuallyhelpsifitisafamiliarobjectIalwaysimaginemytobaccotin). Onceyoucanclearlyseethefocuspointinyourmindseye,'feel'howsoliditis.Trypushingitaround withyourmind,trypullingit,ormovingit.Thefocuspointshouldbetotallysolidandentirely'fixed' whereitis.Noamountofmentalmanipulationshouldbeabletomoveit. Oncethefocuspointistotallyfixed,imaginereachingoutwithyourarmsandgrabbingholdofthe focuspoint(object).Remember,thisWILLNOTMOVE.Now,trypullingtheobjecttowardsyou, gentlyatfirst,andthenharderandharder.Graduallyasyoupullyouwillfeelyourselfmoving towardsthefocuspoint(insteadofviceversa).Finallyyouwillfindyourselfatthefocuspointoutside yourphysicalbodyPresto,you'vedoneit. http://shopofenlightenment.com/forum/ Page4

ExitTechnique#8.TheMovingAnchor Afterreachingthetrancestate,imagineanobjectabout6feetinfrontofyoureyes(assumingthat youarelyingdown).Onceagain,makethisafamiliarobject.Now,feelthisobjectpullingatyou(like amagnet).Onceyoucanseetheobjectclearlyinyourmindseye,andfeelthepulloftheobjecton you,begintomovetheobjectslowlytowardsyou.Justasmallamountatfirst(perhaps6"toafoot), astheobjectmovestowardsyoufeelthepullgettingstronger.Nowmoveitbackagain(thepullgets weakerasyoudo).Nowrepeattheprocess5or6timesmovingtheobjectclosereachtimeand feelingthepullbecomingstrongerandstrongerastheobjectcomescloser. Onceyouarecomfortablewiththemovementoftheobject,begintheprocessagain,onlythistime themovementoftheobjectshouldbeafluidmotion,andastheobjectmovestoandfroitshouldbe likeawave.Youshouldalsofeelthiswaveonyourselfasthepullgetsstrongerandweakerand strongeragain.Finally,astheobjectvirtuallyreachesyou,thestrengthofthepullingforce,combined withthewavelikemotionwillsimplypullyourightoutofyourphysicalbodyWahay,you'vedoneit again.

ExitTechnique#9.AstralArmsBreakingThrough Laydowninacomfortablepositionwithyourarmsextendedaboveyourheadandbentattheelbow atabouta100degreeangle,butstillrelaxed,andlayingonthebed.Takeamomenttocompletely relaxyourselfuntilyoufeeltired.Closeyoureyesandpictureyourastralarmsslowlymovingupand outofyourphysicalarms.Makesureyouarenotthinkingofanything.Justpictureyourarmsslowly Page5

movingoutofyourbody.Asyouaredoingthis,pushupwithyourastralarmsashardasyoucan. Don'tletthismoveyourphysicalarmorflexyourphysicalmuscle.Don'tthinkofanythingotherthan theimageofyourarmsslowlymovinghigherandhigheroutofyourphysicalbody.Afterawhileyou shouldbefeelingyourbodyswayingabit;don'tletthisdistractyou.Eventuallythevibrationswill kickinlightlyandwhentheydo,don'tletitdistractyouorthey'llstop.Justdon'tthinkconsciously. Theywillescalateintoverystrongvibrations.Thenyoucanjustsitupwithyourastralbodyandroll overoffthebedtogetyourlegsout. ExitTechnique#10.FloatingBalloon Firstyoubeginasyoualwaysdoandassoonasyouhavethosevibrationsthenyouwanttogetthe floatingfeelingright?Wellallyouhavetodoisthis: Imagethatthereisalargeballoonfloatinginthe skyaboveyou.Ithasalongandglowinggold stringandtheballoonislargeandglowingwhite. Nowimagetheballoonfloatingdowntowards you. Atthistimeyoushouldhavethegoldenstring attachitselftoyourcrownchakra,asifyourbody wasaweightholdingtheballoondown.

Nowbeginatthefeetandimagineawhitelightslowlyworkingit'swayupyourbodyasthiswhite lightiscomingupthelengthofthebodyitshouldformintoaballshapeandgrowninsize. Whenthelightistothetopofyourhead,imagineitleavingthroughthecrownchakraintothe goldenstringandfromthestringintothe"empty"balloon. Nowdoingsoyouhavefilledtheballoonwithenergy,thusgivingit"lift"power. Imagetheballoonstartingtofloatintotheairandtrytoseethingsasifyouwheresittingonopof theballoon. Thisshouldhavetriggeredaprojection. ExitTechnique#11.DynamicConcentrationMethod TheparticipantwouldconcentrateonOOBE's,andletitconsumealloftheirthoughts,untilthatwas theonlythingontheirmind.Onewaytodothisistothinkaboutitintheformofaquestion,orpose aproblemthatyourconsciousmindhastoanswer.Donotanswerthequestionatfirst,justletitstay inthebackofyourmind.Howeveryoushouldthinkabouttheproblemoverandoverthroughoutthe day.Ifdonecorrectly,you'llfindyourselfthinkingabouthowitmightbepossibleforyoutoproject atthemostunusualtimes.Sincethesubconsciousmindlikestosolveproblems,thisproblemwillbe echoingthroughyourmindquiteoften.Thefirstdayyoumightnotnoticeanything.But,usuallyafter thesecondorthirddayyouwillseeresultsfromthismethod.Anotherpartofthemethodisto http://shopofenlightenment.com/forum/ Page6

concentrateoneverysquareinchofyourbody,releasingitastrally,asyoudriftofftosleep.With practice,youcangetoutmerelybywillingyourselftogetout.Thequestionpartofthismethodhelps addfueltothefire,whentryingtoproject,andmakesitmorelikelyforyoutoprojectfromalucid dreamintheinstancethatyoumightfallasleep.

ExitTechnique#12.CountingYourWayintoSleep SettingUptheExpectationofaSpiritualTravelExperience Thisexerciseinvolvescountingasonegoestosleep.Thefirststepistochooseanumberbasedon howsleepyyoufeelanddecidethatyouwillbeasleepbythetimeyougettothatnumber.Ifyouare sleepy,choosethenumbertwentybutifyoufeelmoreawake,youcanchooseahighernumberlike fifty. Thenextstepistotellyourselfthatyouwillwakeupassoonasyouenterthesleepstateasthe numberisreached.Youcansuggestanenvironmentthatyouwillwakeinandvisualizeit,orsimply choosetobestandingintheroomnexttoyourbedoutsideofyourbody. Thenbegincountingyourwayintosleep. ExitTechnique#13.Creativevisualizationtechniques Creativevisualizationmeanspicturingsomethinginyourmind,andisusedasformofconcentration. TherearemanytechniquesusedtoinduceAstralProjectionthatinvolvecreativevisualization. Beforeyoucanstartvisualizing,however,youmustbecompletelyrelaxed.Irecommendusingthe bothprogressiverelaxationtechniqueandoneofthevisualizationtechniques.Severalexamplesof visualization/imaginationareincludedbelow: 1.)Imaginethereisaropeextendingfromtheceilingtoyourbody,ataboutthesolarplexus(mid chest).Fromtherelaxedstate,mentallyimagineclimbingthisrope.Feelasifyouareclimbing upward,pullingyourconsciousnessalongwithyou.Don't'picture'therope,butinstead'feel'itasif youwereinthedark.Feelyourhandsmovingoneoveraotherandpullingupwards. 2.)Imagineflyinghighintheair,likeabird.Manypeoplehavesaidthatduringalucidflyingdream theyhaveinducedAstralProjection.Mentallyfeelthesensationsofglidingalongridingthethermals. Then,tryto'breakaway'fromyourflightpath,andoutofyourbody. 3.)Visualizeanobjectabout3metersinfrontofyourbody.Distinguishitsshape,color,andsize. Next,onceyouhavetheobjectfullyvisualized,mentallywalktowardsit. 4.)Imagineyouarerockingbackandforth(donotreallyrock),feeltheimaginaryrockingand graduallyincreaseituntilyoureachacriticalpointandrolloutofyourbody. WhenIwasyoung,Iusedtolovetrains.SometimesIusedtovisualizethevariousthetraincars designingthecontentsofthesleeper,diner,entertainment,andloungecars.Iwouldcreatemyideal trainonthewayintosleep.Iwouldmovefromcartocardescribingandvisualizingelementsofthe environmentsuchasseating,windows,andthecolorsandtexturesofsurfaces. Sometimes,IwouldfindthatmydreamwouldtakeupwheremyvisualizationsendedandIwould continuedesigningandridingthatidealtrainduringthedream.BecauseIenteredthatdreamstate whileinvolvedinacreativeactivity,Iwouldsometimesfindmyselfinanexpandedstateof awarenessandabletocontroltheprogressofthedreamtovaryingdegrees.. Thesevisualizationsandtheresultingdreamexperienceswereantecedentstospiritualtravel. Gettinginvolvedinavisualizationthatcrowdsoutallothersensationsonthewayintosleepisone waytoinitiatespiritualtravel.Creativeinterestinasubjectmatterisinmanycasesalessstressful andmoreenjoyablemethodofenteringintospiritualtravelstatesthanalternateapproachessuchas concentrationexercises.Paintersandmusicianscancomposecanvasesandmusicalscoresusing muchthesametechnique. ExitTechnique#15.Jac'sDualFocus:AuditoryandRespiratoryAPTechnique Summary:ThisisthefirstofafewtechniquesthatIwillcreateusingaDualFocusmethodthatcame tomewhilepracticing.Togivethistechniqueaserioustry,wouldrequireyoutotryitforatleast sevenormoredaysstraight.It'sbestifyoucommitittomemorybeforeattemptingtouseit.The threesectionlabelsshouldhelpinthememoryofit.Goodluck! Technique: PositionandComfort Beginbygettinginyourusualmeditationposition.Thisisapositionthatonlyyoucandecidefor yourself.It'scomfortableenoughthatyoucansleepinit,yetyouseemtobemoreattentiveinit overothersleepingpositions. Begintodowhatisnecessarytofindcomfort.Scratchthoseitchesthatwon'tsubside,openthose fingersalittlemoretorelievetensionanddowhateverelseittakestogetyourbodyreadytobe forgottenabout. ThoughtClearingandInitiationofDesire Nowclearyourthoughts.Thinkofnothingforacoupleofminutesotherthanhowniceitistobeso comfortableandrelaxed.Clearyouremotionsaswell.Beforeyougofurther,youneedtobring peacetoyouremotionsandfindenjoymentinthistimethatyouhavetomeditate. Ifyouhaveafavoriteaffirmation,nowwouldbeagoodtimetosayitinyourmind.Itwillgetyou readyforthefeelingofdesire.Ifyoudon'thaveone,youcanrepeatthisafewtimes:"Iammore thanthisphysicalbody.IAstrallyProject.IwillremainconsciousduringthisjourneyandIwillretain itsmemories". NowyoumustinitiateyourdesiretoAP.AtanytimeduringthedayifyouthinkaboutAstral Projection,youprobablythinktoyourself,"I'dlovetodothat."Atthistime,however,andforthe restofyourmeditation,youmusthaveadeepfeelingofdesireforit.It'sstrongerthanasingle thoughtoraffirmation.Thisisafeeling,notwords,andcanbeaidedbyyourimagination.Thisfeeling http://shopofenlightenment.com/forum/ Page8

InitiationoftheDualFocus Begintoslowyourbreathingtoarhythmthatisalittleslowerandalittlelongerthanyournormal breathing.Nothingforcedhere.Thisshouldhaveanaturalfeeltoit.Ifdoneproperly,yourbreathing shouldbecomealmostsilentandlessnoticeable.Maintainthisrhythmthroughtherestofthe meditation. Listenforaringingsoundinyourears.Itmaystartoutasaveryfainttone.Placeallofyourattention onitandbegintoraiseitsvolume.Continuetoraisethevolumeofthetoneforaslongasyoucan, higher,andhigher,anddonotfearthatyou'regoingtoreachapointthatisdangerous.Whenyou feelthatyou'veincreasedthepitchandvolumeofthetonetoitshighestlevelgotothenextstep. Doaquickcheckofyourbodymentallytonoticeifyouhavestiffenedanyofyourmuscles.Ifyou haveflexedmuscles,relaxthemnowandtheyshouldremainrelaxedthroughtherestofthe meditation. Finally,throughtherestofthemeditationcompletelyfocusallofyourawarenesssimultaneouslyon yoursmoothrhythmicbreathingandthetonethatyou'vebeenhearingandraising.Keepstrivingto increasethepitchandvolumeofthistoneasyoualsokeepyourconcentrationsplitandfocusedon yourbreathing.Donotgiveuporgetdiscouragedifatanytimeyouloseyourfocusofeitherone. Justregainfocusofitassoonasyoucan.Continuethisstep,untilyoucanjuststepoutofyour physicalbody. ExitTechnique#16.TheGazingTechnique ByLeia Thisistobedonewhengoingtobed.Youneedsomethingtofocuson;ifitisinviewthemoon,the stars,acrystal,afavoritedollwillworkwell...Usewhateveryoulike. JustnotaCandleoranythingthatburns! Thismethodinvolvesthebodyfallingasleep,andyoushouldneverleaveanythingthatburns unattended.Iusuallyusemycrystalballforthis. Placetheobjectwithinyourviewandliedowninyourbed.Juststareattheobjectasyoudozeoff. Thefirstfewtimesmaybefrustrating.Youmayjustfallasleepandthat'sit.Butafterafewtries,this workedforme. Keepstaringattheobject.Asyoureyelidsbecomeheavy,keepstaring.Eventuallyyoureyeswill close,butyouwillstillbeabletoseetheobject.Youwillstillbestaringattheobject.Situporstand up,anddon'tbesurprisedtoseeyourphysicalbodysleepingpeacefullyinyourbed! Thisworksfairlywellforme.Whenyouareoutofyourbody,dowhateveryouwish.Iamstillgetting usedtotheoutofbodyfeeling(Iachievedmyfirstoneonlyamonthago),soIhavenottravelled anyfartherthantheroofofourapartmentbuildingyet. Itneedstobesaidthatadeepfocus10istrulyquiteadetachedexperiencefromthephysical,and toooftenpeopleassumehavingbeentherewhiletheywerenot.Infact,mostsuccesfulprojectors oftenpassthroughitwithoutholdingstillorrecognizingthisintermediaryarea.Thefeelingisalmost likebeinginvirgin,unspoiledterritoryeventhoughthoughtprocessesmaycontinueasusual. Whatwouldbeyourfavoriteperception?Somepersonalfavoritesofminearelookingattrees,large scalenaturescenes,lakes,seascapes,andbeautifulmansionsandhouses.Whileinfocus10 (whetheritisalightordeepfocus10)startplayingaroundwithseeingyourfavoriteimagesinyour mind'seye.Don'tcreatethesceneintermsofcreativevisualization.Youdon't"build"theimage. Rather,youtryto"see"afavoriteimageforonlyaverybriefperiodoftimeasifitcomesoutof nowhere.Donottrytoholdit.Ifit'svague(likeforexampleseeingahalfformedimageofalake surroundedbymountains)thenyoudonottrytomakeitmorevivid.Getonwiththenextone. Onethatreallydidcomeoutofnowhere!Expecttobesurprisedwiththedetailandbeautyofthese images.Theymaybesnapshotsatfirst,butonceyouhaveseen,forexampleatree,thatoriginates notfromyourmind,butfromelsewhere,thisexercisewillbecometremendouslyfunandexciting. Increasingly,you'llbeabletoseethevisualimagesforlongerperiods,whileatthesamemaintaining astrongersenseofselfwhileseeingthem.Youmayalsofindyourselfshiftinginandoutthevisual imagerymoreeasilyandmorequickly.Ofcourse,thesevisualimagesoccuronlywhilerelaxingyour awarenessandwithoutdoinganythinginparticularto"get"them.Soifyourattentionalfocusin focus10isontheblacknessinfrontofyoureyesorontheremainingsensorysensationsinyour body,youareunlikelytoexperienceanything.Instead,youneedtoforgetabouteverythingphysical forawhile. Whatareyoureallydoinghereinthisprocess?Whatyouaredoingistakinganactiveapproachand realinteresttowardsinneractivitythatisseeminglyunrelatedtoyourself.Inotherwords,youare creatingafunctionalunitbetweenyourwakingmindandnonphysicalenergies.Theimagesmaynot beveryinformativeorusefulatfirst.However,thefunctionalunitbetweenyourwakingselfand inneractivityisquiteuseful.Thisfunctionalunitisyourprimarystartingpoint. Kinestheticsensationsthatareofparticularinterestarethosethatinvolveacompletedissolutionof normalbodyboundaries.Thatis,theformationofacompletelynewbodyboundarythatformsan eggshapedformaroundthebody.Frommyunderstanding,thisisnotthesocalled"secondbody" butratherafieldthatseemstosurroundthephysicalbody.Itisamostpeculiarfeelingwhereone seemstobefloatinginsideabigballoonandones"edges"seemstobelocatedaroundafeetaway fromtheactualbody.This"body"enlargementeffecthasbeenreportedseveraltimesbypeoplein thesleepingboothattheMonroeInstitute(Atwater,2001).Inmyopinion,thisphenomenonis merelyanindirectsymbolizedexperienceoftheexpansionofconsciousness.Alternatively,likemany otherkinestheticsensationsthewholeexperiencemayinpartbetheresultofareductioninthe cutaneoussenseswherebodyboundariesmayshiftintoadifferentform.SoIwouldn'tworrytoo muchifyounevercomeacrossit,sinceitseemsperfectlypossibletoreachhigherfocuslevels withoutexperiencingthisphenomenon.
