1.

I feel that the reason the Martha Stewart acted the way she did was to try and conceal and save her public reputation. She may have known that she was down but had to do everything that she could to help herself out. That is why she stayed stone faced and didnt comment on anything that had to do with the conviction. I feel that Martha played her cards right in order to lay low and avoid any sort of instant suspicion.

2. Martha violated a key part of having good public relations; she failed to say anything about the issue after being convicted of a crime. She did nothing to help save herself after the fact that the whole public knew that she had wronged.

3. Had I been advising Martha throughout all of this mess, I would have helped her be more positive and maybe speak a little bit more on the issue. Like I said before, she should have been a bit more vocal and in advising her I would have helped script out careful responses that could have combated the publics view and negativity thrown towards her.

4. Her decision to go to jail was a huge decision that she had to make and in hindsight it worked out beautifully for her. I wouldnt say that she is back on top but she is in a lot better place now then she was before and I think that this is due to her showing the public that she was willing to bite the bullet and go to jail willingly. I also feel that her letters and reports from jail really showed the public that she was really paying her dues and that maybe she was deserving of being back in the real world.

5. Martha should lay low-key for the time and continue to live in the good vibes that she is getting from the public. She seems to have a lot of things back and I feel that she should structure her comments and actions more around a defensive approach and thoroughly think out her next few steps.

6. I think that if she were to acknowledge any mistake she may or may not have made, that it would throw her back into negativity and mud her name. She needs to focus on becoming the mogul that she once was and work up not dwelling on the past. She served her time and paid her dues to the public and she shouldnt relive all of that. It happened almost ten years ago and by now a lot of people have forgotten about it all.
