Rowling is the greatest author of childrens literature ever. Her Harry Potter books are worldwide sensations because of their complex and relatable characters. The reader feels like he personally knows Harry, Ron, and Hermione and wishes he could study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with them. Upon reading these books, it is impossible to not become attached to Professor Dumbledore and Hagrid and to hate Voldemort with a passion. Another reason the Harry Potter books are so popular is because of the crazy plot twists and turns. The story that spans seven long novels is so complex and exciting that millions of books would be sold the very first day they were released. If you have not yet read a Harry Potter book, it may interest you to learn that J.K. Rowling wrote the first drafts of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone on coffee shop napkins while she was on welfare. Today, she is a very rich woman with millions of books sold and eight films made based on her books. For these reasons and more, J.K. Rowling is my favorite author.
