Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (title sequence)

Description: Starts with darkness and a smoke looking cloudiness appears from the bottom of the screen which turns in to the sky and we see what looks like rain drops falling. As we are looking red drops begin to fall with the rain we slide along slowly and see a top story to a house with a barbers pole and then to the window, which we cant see through. It zooms closer to the window there is a chair under a spot light. We can see small splashes of blood falling on to the window. Then theres a droplet of blood that falls on to the spot of the window we are focused on but we can still see the chair behind it. The screen then changes to a silhouette image of a women on a wall with red streaks running down the wall. We then see another silhouette image of a women with the same happening to it. The camera zooms out to see a worn out back of a chair with a dribble of blood dripping down it. The cameras moves down the chair and there is blood moving down the arm of the chair and down on to the foot of the chair showing a lion engraved in to it. Under the chair is a rotating clog that the blood falls on to. The blood dribbles through the clogs and on to more clogs where it gets moved from place to place until it is on the floor where it drops through the floor. We then switch scenes to a meat grinder and we see blood dripping from the meat as it falls to the floor. The blood then turns in to a swirl in water. Fire appears from the bottom of the screen and we then see pies cooking with blood dripping to the front of the tray and bubble with the heat of the flames. The screen zooms out to see an oven door slam shut and a sewer drain next to right. The blood is running down the ditch in the floor to a drain. It makes its way down the wall and to a sewage system where it drops and the water is red. We can then see the blood and water gushing out of one side of the sewer walls and we follow the water until it reaches the gates to open waters. The clear blue water then gradually and slowly turns red. The water then turns in to fog and we see the front of a boat appear. Analysis: I think they keep to the blood flowing all the way through because it is a major point in the film. The film is about a barber and his wife who sell pies that are made of humans meat but to get their victims they open a barber shop and when someone comes in they kill them and drop them beneath their shop where they make the pies. The blood flowing through is showing the blood of the innocent people and where it goes through the shop. The style of this is a horror and its also a gorey film.
