Multi-camera productions: Live sitcoms e.g The Big Bang Theory Talk shows e.g Jeremy Kyle show Soap operas e.g Eastenders
The difference between a single camera production and multi-camera production is with a single camera production production you would have to shoot the same seen over and over again but from different angles. This is used more in lms and documentaries but with a documentary it is different as they lm them in a way as they are talking to the audience. Where as a multi-camera production is used most in live TV where they would use a vision mixer to edit the lming as they go along this occurs usually in sitcoms such as friend or the big bang theory where there is a live studio audience. Productions for single and multi-camera techniques are different as to produce with a single camera you would need to create storyboards in difference with a multicamera production you would need to create a oor plan.
Advantages Multi-camera
with a multi-camera production it is easier to edit the lming taken as usually a vision mixer is used which helps you change quicker from one camera at an angle to another for example you were lm from a high angle and something dramatic occurred and then you would switch camera to another which is zoomed on another characters face to show their reaction no need for relighting the set/scene as would be done to x all cameras
