NO.TISS/NON-ACADEMIC/JAN./2013 The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) was established in 1936 and is a deemed university fully funded by the University Grants Commission, Government of India. TISS offers 39 Masters Degree programmes from its Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad Campuses for the 2013-2015 batch. Masters programmes in a range of socially relevant inter-disciplinary areas of Social Work, Social Sciences, Health, Management, Labour Studies and Habitat Studies. It has a strong M. Phil. and Ph. D. programme. A high degree of freedom and autonomy shape the positive work ethos and creativity in the Institute facilitating strong linkages between education, research, field action and dissemination. The candidate applying for posts at Sl. No. 15 to 27 should be registered with the Employment Exchange under Ministry of Labour, Government of India or Employment Exchange under the Labour Department of Maharashtra State. Please mention your Current/ Renewed Registration Number on your application. Candidates can apply for multiple positions with separate application for each position. 1. Registrar (1 Post) OPEN, Pay Band of Rs.37400-67000 with Grade Pay of Rs.10000. The Registrar will be responsible for providing leadership to the administration of TISS. With professional training in Management the candidate will have strong inter-personal skills and a proven ability to co-ordinate, and create synergy and team-work amongst staff teams working across multiple functional areas of an organisation. He/she will also be familiar with implementing and managing computerised administrative systems and processes. He/she will have experience of providing strategic management advice and leadership in areas such as organisational development, institutional planning, human resources development, and a familiarity with budgeting and financial management. Essential Qualification/Experience: Masters with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 point scale. Experience required shall be: (i) (ii) at least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.7000 and above or with 8 years of service in the AGP of Rs.8000 and above including as Associate Professor along with experience in educational administration, or Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other institutions of higher education, or

(iii)

15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years shall be as Deputy Registrar or an equivalent post.

2. Training and Placement Officer (1 Post) OPEN, Pay Band Rs.15600-39100, Grade Pay Rs.7600. Essential Qualification: A Post-graduate degree in Management, Social Work, Counselling, Media Studies, and related disciplines from a recognized University with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 point scale; along with - (i) Nine years' of experience as Assistant Professor in the AGP of Rs.6000 and above with experience in training and placement, or (ii) Comparable experience in research establishment and/or other Institutions of higher education, or (iii) 5 years' of administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or in an equivalent post. The minimum requirement of 55% is not required for candidates who are already in the university system. A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the post-graduate degree for the SC/ST category candidates. Preferable: Professional qualification in Training and Development. Should have good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various stakeholders students, teachers, and should have strong industries links. 3. Assistant Registrar, Guwhati Campus, 1 Post, SC, Pay Band Rs. Rs.15600-39100, Grade Pay Rs.5400. (i) Good academic record plus Masters Degree with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scale. (ii) Eight years administrative experience in responsible supervisory positions of which at least three years in the Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 with Grade Pay Rs.4600 in research establishment and other institutions of higher education. Candidates must be familiar with and worked in computerized administrative systems. 4. Assistant ManagerPublications (1 Post) OBC, Pay Band Rs. Rs.15600-39100, Grade Pay Rs.5400. Masters degree from a recognized university in India or abroad, with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade in any discipline. Preferred Qualification: A masters degree in communication/public relations/journalism with specialization in marketing, writing and editorial skills. A minimum of two years in publishing, either in editorial/marketing. Candidates must be familiar with computerized administrative systems and processes. Preferred Experience: Knowledge of DTP programmes like CorelVentura, CorelDraw, Adobe Indesign, and QuarkXPress, etc. 5. System-Analyst-cum-Programmer, 1Post, OPEN, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400.

(i) A Masters degree with 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade in Computer Science/Computer Applications / Statistics / Mathematics (with Statistics) / Operations Research / Physics or Economics (with Statistics) / Commerce (with Statistics) of a recognized university or its equivalent, (ii) Should have three years (two years for SC/ST candidates) experience of electronic data processing work, out of which at least one year experience should be in actual programming on computer and also in handling Social Science research data analysis. Desirable : (i) Doctorate degree in any of the subjects mentioned in Essential Qualification. (ii) Formal training in computer programming/system design/analysis; (iii) Knowledge of one or more programming languages (to be indicated). 6. Programme Manager (Student Affairs), 1 Post on tenure of 5 years, OPEN, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400. Masters Degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in Social Work/Social Sciences/International Relations with 3 to 5 years experience in teaching/research; high proficiency in computer based data management, good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various stakeholders-students, teachers and staff at all levels. 7. Programme Manager (International Students Office), 1 Post on tenure of 5 years, OPEN, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400. TMasters Degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification in Social Work/Social Sciences/International Relations with 3 to 5 years experience in teaching/research; high proficiency in computer based project/data management; good interpersonal skills and ability to interface with various stakeholders students, teachers, staff at all levels, media and public. 8. Producer, 1 Post, OBC, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400. Masters Degree in commercial art/photography/video/film production with 3 years experience of still and video camera work. 9. Programme Manager (School of Media & Cultural Studies), 1 Post on tenure of 5 years, ST, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400. Masters Degree or equivalent post-graduate qualification with 3 to 5 years experience of marketing/dissemination/advertising/public relations/programme management, preferably in an academic setting. The work involves disseminating the work of the school, including films, publications, research, digital archive and special programmes through press, public relations, events and use of on-line and social media. The job also involves content development for the School's website, including the digital interfaces of the archive. The incumbent should help develop the income generating capacities of the school through the distribution of its outputs and pro-actively identify funding possibilities for various new programmes of the school. 10. Web Manager (School of Media & Cultural Studies), 1 Post on tenure of 5 years, OPEN, Consolidated salary of Rs.22500/- per month.

Post graduate degree (M.Sc., MCA, etc.) or Professional Bachelor degree (B.Tech., B.E., etc.) with specialization in information technology/computer applications/web design. Desirable: Two years work experience in web based applications. The job involves working on design and maintenance of the school's main website as well as other web spaces related to the archive, managing the digital storage set up of the school in coordination with the technical staff of the school, maintaining and enhancing the web presence of the school including the website, blogs, use of social media, etc., maintaining the on-line archival spaces of the school, in coordination with other personnel of SMCS and orienting students to using cyber space effectively for presenting their work. 11. Field Work Coordinator (School of Mgt. & Labour Studies), (1 Post) OBC, Pay Band Rs. 15600-39100 + Grade Pay Rs.5400. Age not exceeding 45 years. Masters degree in Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Human Resource Management, Labour Laws or Industrial Relations with at least 55% of the marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC 7 point scale and with 5 years experience in the relevant field. Preference will be given to candidates with M.Phil/Ph.D. Should have strong leadership qualities and administrative skills, written and oral communication skills, ability to coordinate and supervise field work, write project proposals, engage in research and write report. Should have proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi languages. 12. Assistant Dining Hall Supervisor, (1 Post) OBC, Pay Band Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-. Age not exceeding 45 years. Diploma in Catering and Food Management (equivalent to a Bachelors degree recognized by the Government of India). A minimum of 3 years experience in a catering establishment or in the Pantry/kitchen of a Hospital or Hostel. Those having experience in managing a mess attached to residential educational institutions will be given preference. Knowledge of Hindi/Marathi and English is essential. The candidates should be familiar with the planning of menu, supervision of canteen staff, organizing special lunches, accounting purchase procedures for various items for the canteen and store keeping. Computer knowledge preferred. Required to do shift duties by rotation. Age not exceeding 35 years. 13. Social Worker, 1 Post, Reserved for PWD (OH), Pay Band Rs.930034800 + Grade Pay
Rs.4600. Age not exceeding 52 years. In case of PWD candidates belonging to SC/ST will get 5 years and belonging to OBC will get 3 years further relaxation in age. Masters Degree in Social Work with 10 years experience in the relevant field. Should have strong

leadership qualities and administrative skills, written and oral communication skills, ability to supervise TISS students of social work, write project proposals, engage in research and write report. Should have proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi languages. 14. Psychiatric Social Worker, 1 Post, OPEN, Pay Band Rs.930034800 + Grade Pay
Rs.4200/-. Age not exceeding 42 years.

Master's Degree in Social Work (preferably with specialization in Medical and Psychiatric Social work) with 5 years experience of working with children and adolescents in the field of mental health. Ability to work in community with different stakeholders, supervise TISS students of social work, write project proposals, engage in research and write reports. Strong in community assessment and development skills, written and oral communication skills. Should have proficiency in English, Hindi, and Marathi languages.

15. Assistant, 1 Post, OPEN, Rs.9300-34800 + Grade Pay Rs.4200/-. Age not exceeding 32 years.
Bachelors degree with 30 wpm typewriting speed, with MSC-IT or equivalent computer course from recognized Government Institution. 2 years experience at the level of UDC in a reputed organization.

SSC with 80 w.p.m. in shorthand and 30 w.p.m. in typewriting speed, with MSC-IT or equivalent computer course from recognized Government Institution. Bachelors degree preferred.

26. UDC (Accounts) 1 Post, OPEN, Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.2400/-. Age not exceeding 32 years. Minimum B.Com. with MSC-IT or equivalent computer course from recognized Government Institution and Tally . 27. Driver (Ordinary Grade), 1 Post, OBC, Pay Band Rs.5200-20200 + Grade Pay Rs.1900/-. Age not exceeding 35 years. Minimum SSC passed and be able to read and speak Hindi/Marathi and English. Must possess a heavy vehicle driving license with bus badge and good driving record for one year. Should be willing to go to rural areas when required and be prepared to work in shift and to work at nights when required. GENERAL CONDITIONS:-
