Collaboration in automobile Industry in India (Joint ventures) Here are some of the Joint ventures which have been

quite popular in india.These are as follows:1)Ashok Leyland-Nissan Ashok Leyland entered into joint Venture with Nissan to become a competitive force in the automobile industry in 2007.The aim was to enter into medium and premium segment of the Indian automobile industry and to compete with other Auto manufacturers present in the Indian market. For this, they are entering into Indian market with 2 cars which are going to be priced in medium and in premium level. 1)Nissan Micra-This was one of the first product of Joint ventures between the two companies.The car is offered in both petrol and diesel variants and is offered in price of 4-6 lakhs.

2)Evalia-The joint venture of Nissan and and Ashok Leyland will Bring out their first product in 2012 named Evalia. This will be a premium segment car and will be aiming to fight with Toyota innova.

2)Fiat India AutomobilesFiat Automobiles is a Joint venture between fiat group automobiles and Tata motors of India. The Joint Venture is of 50:50 between the two companies. The Joint Venture was incorporated on 1997.The Joint Venture produces mainly 3 variants of cars which are targeting small car and premium car segement. 1)Fiat Linea-Fait linea is mainly a small family car and it comes in 4 different varieties in india. They are mainly emotion,active,dynamic.One of the lines was discontinued.

2)Fiat Punto-Fait Punto is a small car targeting middle class people of India. General Motors Joint venture with Hindustan MotorsGeneral motors and Hindustan motors joint ventured to produce opel astra cars for medium and premium segment consumers of india.The Joint Venture happened in 1994.

Mahindra-Renault limitedIts is a Joint venture between Mahindra of India and Renault of France(51% and 49%).The Joint venture was formed in 2007 and they set up a plant in Nasik, Mahrasthra. The JV produced only 1 automobile in India named Mahindra-logon.

General Motors India Private limited

General Motors India Private Limited is a 50:50 partnership between General Motors and SAIC that is engaged in the automobile business in India. It is the 5th largest automobile manufacturing company in India after Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra. General Motors India started its journey in 1996 in India and has completed 16 years of operation in India. The Joint venture produces the cheverolet brand in india. These include the cheverlolet tavera,optra etc.
