Walt: Design and make a batch of biscuits.

Ingredients
50g margarine 75g caster sugar 100-200g plain flour 1 small egg yolk I whole egg Optional ingredients

Optional ingredients
50g margarine could be butter 75g caster sugar soft brown sugar 100-200g plain flour could substitute up to half of wholemeal. 1 small egg yolk could substitute milk for vegans Flavourings: 5ml spoon of; lemon, vanilla, coffee, mixed spice (English not Asian mixed spice) 25g of cherries, apricots, choc-chips, dried fruit, zest of orange or lemons, 15g grated fresh ginger.

Mixing bowl Sieve Measuring spoons Mixing spoons Baking tray Weighing scales Oven cloth Wire cooling rack Container

Method slide 1
Preheat oven to 180 C or Gas mark 4 Beat margarine and sugar in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Add beaten egg, a little at a time. Sieve in flour. Add optional ingredients Mix to a firm dough.

Method slide 2
Shape into biscuits Place on a greased baking tray with name Bake for 15 minutes until golden Leave to cool on a wire rack Decorate with toppings
