With the increase in student mobility to universities abroad, Manipal University introduced the ICAS program with a view to encourage students to pursue their studies in these reputed universities in USA, UK, Australia, Canada and France.

Students spend the first two years of the ICAS program studying in Manipal University, India. During this tenure students are trained to meet eligibility requirements as well as have a cultural understanding of the destination country of their choice. And thus, provide students with the required foundation for the following two years which will be spent in USA, UK, Australia, Canada or France. ICAS has tied up with 26 prestigious partner universities, thus offering a wide range of universities from which the ICAS students can pursue their final two years. The students are free to apply to any other foreign university of their choice thus providing them a wide platform to jump start a successful career. This unique program is made possible by adopting all the teaching and evaluation methods that are followed by universities abroad, thus enabling an easy transfer from Manipal to any foreign university. As a testament to the success of this program, ICAS has seen over 1,200 students pass through its portals and continue their studies abroad. The students also benefit from the flexibility of choosing or changing the branch or major area of specialization after entering the programme at foreign universities. For example, a student who has taken the basic course in mechanical engineering may change to aircraft or automotive engineering and a student who has opted for electronics during the first two years at Manipal may change over to biomedical engineering.
