Angry Elf You are really fed up with the unequal and, what you see as , the deliberate

exploitation of you and your fellow elves. You work 364 days a year! Making toys, answering childrens letters , deciding who has been good or bad, planning Christmas Eve present delivery schedules- Everything. You feel you represent the majority of the elves and have agreed to represent them to effect immediate and dramatic change. 1) Less working hours (Santa and Rudolph only work 1 day a year!) 2) Pay: currently you are not paid. Your room and board is paid for and if you have any requests the Board of Christmas generally grants it but you want to be in control of your own money. 3) Holidays: You only get Christmas day and Boxing day off! 4) Sickness benefits: Rudolph and his reindeer have medical cover as some reindeers are suffering from stress! From overwork! How can that be? You work 364 days a year and are never ill. 5) Status: you want recognition. Santa and Rudolph appear on Christmas cards and in songs- you dont! Even Robins have more status than you and they have nothing to do with Christmas! You are prepared to strike to get what you want. That means no Christmas 2009. Prioritize your demands and decide on bargaining points and how far youre willing to compromise then bring your complaints to the Board of Christmas meeting where Santa and Rudolph will also be present and bringing their views on Christmas 2009. Unhappy Rudolph You hate Christmas Eve. Its a nightmare! You have to work really hard making sure that all the presents get delivered on time to the right child. If you dont then the Board of Christmas disciplines you! This is a very stressful situation and is making some of your reindeer friends ill; they are having nervous breakdowns and are unable to work or fly. There is a lot of tension in the workplace and you feel undervalued, a little positive reinforcement goes a long way but you are never listened to and often feel that Santa simply placates you with Christmas slogans in the run up to Christmas to ensure you to give 110%, its not good enough. You want regular team building strategies put in place. You want to see reviews that focus on your strengths as well as your weaknesses You want some positive reinforcement and your work split into attainable goals that can clearly demonstrate your value and commitment to the job. You want the work spread out over a longer period Europe- Christmas 25th December Americas- Christmas 25th February Asia- Christmas 25th April Africa- Christmas 25th June Everyone else- Christmas 25th September

You are also angry with the elves. They are rude to you and always complaining. To the sick reindeer they sing: You cant fly You cant fly So what good are you? I know! Reindeer pie! This is clearly workplace bullying and it must stop. If the elves get more benefits you want more too! The reindeer are committed to bringing equality into the workplace and will stand together to achieve it. You are their representative. Prioritize your demands and decide on bargaining points and how far youre willing to compromise then bring your complaints to the Board of Christmas meeting where Santa and the Elves will also be present and bringing their views on Christmas 2009.

Santa You are very traditional and cannot understand why anyone would be unhappy about Christmas! Christmas has always been this way and you can see no reason why it should change. You believe everyone is happy as every year the targets of Christmas are always achieved. The Elves and the Reindeer should remember that this is not a job but a calling to preserve the traditions that keep family values together and teach morality to children (Remember if children are good they get a present, if not they get some coal). There are not many beings in this world blessed with the ability to make Christmas work but the chosen few should see their position as a privilege, its not exactly a regular 9-5 job! Youve heard that the Elves and the Reindeer are angry and will be bringing workers rights issues to the Board of Christmas meeting. You think this is absurd and it is a few bad apples that are ruining it for everyone else and stirring up discontentment in the workplace in a bid to destroy Christmas. You know that Rudolph hasnt been the same since he became famous, it has really gone to his head and he has become obsessed with stardom. You want the Board of Christmas to sack the elf and Rudolph and then all this un-Christmas like demands will go away. You do not understand money, working rights or the concept of inequality. You have lived in Santas Grotto for hundreds of years and the only time to go into the real world is on Christmas Eve. You dont get out much. As the CEO of Christmas you enjoy the benefits of spending 364 days a year: 1) Sleeping 2) Playing with the snowmen who live nearby 3) Talking with Polar Bears and Penguins Prioritize your needs and decide on bargaining points and how far youre willing to compromise then help the Board of Christmas sort out the staffing problems while maintaining your traditional Christmas beliefs. Board of Christmas The Elves, Reindeer and Santa are all at each others throats! The Board of Christmas 2009 meeting is supposed to be one of making plans for Christmas 2009 and ensuring that everyone knows what their jobs are and the targets they have to achieve. But youve heard on the grapevine that this year will be different as there are mutterings of disquiet amidst the workers. The Elves want workers rights pertaining to pay and the reindeer want team building pertaining to a harmonious workplace environment while Santa is very traditional and has almost Dickensian workplace ethics and values; believing that this job is not a job but a calling therefore the Elves and Reindeer have no rights. You have to sort this all out or Christmas 2009 will not go ahead. You have to make sure that Christmas goes ahead on the 25th of December for everyone. To keep the Elves making the toys, the Reindeer training for the grueling Christmas Eve flight and Santa happy to spread the Christmas magic around, you have to find a compromise that will make everyone happy. You could market Christmas to raise money to keep everyone happy; you could create a chain of Christmas shops owned by the Board, the money generated would pay for wages, etc. You could employ part time help to cover sickness or holidays. Polar bears, penguins, snowmen. Listen to the complaints then come up with a plan to save Christmas 2009.
