Double Page Spread Production

I first of all created the double page for the double page spread in InDesign. I set the pages so they were next to each other ready for the copy to be added to the page.

After editing the image on Photoshop I placed the image into InDesign on the second page of my double page spread. I then enlarged the image to fill the whole page.

To my double page spread I kept the continuity of my magazine by creating a pink header across the top of the page using the rectangular tool. Under the right hand side of the header I added the masthead of the magazine to the page, to show the identity.

Under the left hand side of the header I added the words EXCLUSIVE in the same font that I have used throughout the magazine (Bauhaus 93) to show that this is an exclusive interview with the magazine.

To the double page spread I used the same size font that I used on the front cover to create the heading to the double page spread. I then added drop shadow to the text so that it did not look too flat on the page and make it stand out more. I then tilted the copy slightly to not make it completely straight.

I then did the same method to the word INTERVIEW. I tilted the copy in the opposite direction to the other copy.

I then placed the copy of my article into the double page spread by creating a text box and dividing it in to three columns which I found was the most conventional way of laying out the copy.

I then added an opening paragraph to copy so it would fill some of the dead space on the page. I then added a by line to the double page too.
