I choose the topic Benito Juarez because my teacher said to look information about him because he was an interesting topic. I did a little research about Juarez and found it interesting how he came from being a poor orphan child at a young age into becoming the President of Mexico. I thought this would be the perfect topic for me and started little by little to look deeper at it. I started my research from looking at Wikipedia first, I needed background about who Benito Juarez was, what he have done. I search different stuff that related to Juarez and got more interested. Went to the Library and checked out books that related to Juarez. Started going online and found all kinds of stuff and this was the time to use my first language I know, Spanish. I started sending e-mails to Mexico, the museums, Libraries, the state of Oaxaca where they had primary sources. I also asked my parents if they knew anything about Juarez and my dad told me what he knew and that helped me. My research was getting information from Mexico which helped me a lot. First I was going to do a documentary but noticed I wasnt going to have enough time to finish it before the contest and I have an accent where sometimes people cant understand what Im trying to say. I saw the websites my friends were doing and they were looking cool and decided that I was going to do a website.
