Chomsky is arguably the most important intellectual alive today, wrote Paul Robin
son in the New York Times.
Before a standing-room-only crowd in Gasson 100, Chomsky discusses current Ameri
can politics. He criticizes both Democrats and Republicans, and expresses concer
n that the media does not cover issues, but instead focuses on personalities and
atmospherics. The public discussion, he says, is about anything except what matt
ers. Following his remarks, Chomsky responds to audience questions for 30 minutes
