Step-By-Step procedure to schedule Batch Jobs in SAP

SM36 Is the transaction code to schedule jobs in SAP. Follow the steps below to schedule jobs using t code SM36. 1. Enter your job name, priority of the job (job class) and target server (Optional).

2. Click on Step button to specify the ABAP program, external command for the job to run. Specify ABAP program name and variant details. Click on Save.

3. Click on Start Condition button to specify start time and date for the job. Job can start running immediately with Immediate option or it can scheduled at certain time and date or after another batch job or an event. You can also specify periodic values if this job needs to be run periodically (every day, weekly, monthly etc)

4.Now click on Save button to schedule the job. 5.You can schedule the job status in SM37 transaction. Provide your job name or program name and user id with which the job is scheduled. Wild cards (*) are accepted.

6.A job will be scheduled status if it is dependent on another job or event. It will be in released status if it is scheduled to run at au future time and date.
