PLAIN CAKE makes 1 pound cake

Maida 1 cup and 2 tbsp Powdered Sugar cup Baking Soda 1 tspn Baking Powder 1 tspn Milk 6 tbsp Curd 5 tbsp Butter 5 tbsp Vanilla Essence 1 tsp Vinegar (optional) 1 tsp

Mix all the dry ingredients and wet ingredients separately. Then mix both of them together. Beat the batter for 10 mins. Then grease the dish with oil and dust it with maida. Pour the batter into it. Bake in oven at 180C for 25 mins and keep checking using a toothpick.

VARIATIONS Chocolate cake add 2 tbsp cocoa powder to the above and put only 1 cup of maida.
