Leading Edge Academy DEP

Students- This is a part of your Trimester DEP information that will be looked over by your parents, teachers, and administration. This is an opportunity for you to self-reflect on your academic progress and to evaluate how you are being prepared in relation to our academy pillars.

Course Expressions

Academic Reflection In Expressions, we did the Grease play, in which I could really enjoy myself, and have fun in class. In Language Arts, we read To Kill a Mockingbird, which was really cool. In Math, we had a Trigonometry unit, I actually was very proficient, and enjoyed the unit. In PE, we had a basketball unit, which pretty well in, and were just starting the softball unit. We learned about how chemical formulas work. We learned about the Revolutionary War. We made a video for the Engage 2012 contest, and my partner and I actually won the national contest. Leading Edge Academy Pillar Connections Pillar Connections made this Trimester Give Concrete Examples With the Engage 2012 video, I had to work with my partner to create a successful video.

Building Partnerships/Shared Leadership Critical Thinking/Innovative Problem Solving Technical Savvy

With the Social Studies project where we created a news report, we had to think critically on how to edit the video, and make it look like a real newscast. With the Gamestar Mechanic unit, I had to show my technical savvy through understanding of video games.

Appreciate Cultural Diversity Global Thinking

With the Mendhi Hand project, we are using an art style used in other countries and cultures. With the Grease project, we thought about how life used to be in the sixties, and how drastically different life was back then.
