Introduction

Building on the major steps taken by our insightful government on the path towards developing and updating general education in the Kingdom, and under the auspices and guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, and in line with the great efforts carried out by the education institutions and sectors to support the role of knowledge to establish a civilized Saudi society participates in developing the human culture on all levels, the Ministry of Education launched the International Exhibition and Forum for Education in its second edition at Riyadh International exhibition and Convention Center on the 13th of Feb 2012. The International Exhibition and Forum for Education has been held under the auspices of his Royal Highness the Crown Prince, and in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Saud, Minister of Education, and an elite of Royal Princes and decision makers in different education sectors, as well as the officials of local, regional and international education institutions, beside high profile speakers and visitors. In order to support its strategic vision of keeping up with the developing requirements and needs of general education in the Kingdom, the Ministry of Education has decided to hold the International Exhibition and Forum for Education annually, to support the plans and the projects of all education system to establish a perfect education environment everywhere in the Kingdom. . .

The Exhibition brought together education companies working in several education elds from 20 different countries.

The Exhibition
The Exhibition included 150 exhibitors representing different education companies from 20 countries, including South Korea, China, Japan, India, Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Oman, UK, Sweden, Finland, France, Germany, USA, Canada, beside companies and institutions from KSA.

Over the four days of the Forum, 34 speakers delivered speeches, and included 13 main sessions, 3 seminars, and 30 workshops

Forum and Workshops

The main workshops targeted Education leaders, supervisors, principals and school managers from all over the country. The number of attendees exceeded (6720). An elite of international experts took part in the forum, they were (34) expert, and delivered (13) main sessions, (4) seminars and (30) workshops for the Exhibitors. Those sessions have discussed the critical issues to support the Ministry of Education vision in developing education in the Kingdom, and how to improve education practices, Centralization and Decentralization, and enhancing the role of technology in modern education.

Visitors
The Visitors range reached beyond expectioans. More than 40000 people have visited the IEFE for 2012 within the 4 days of the exhibition. The visitors included high profile education managers, decision makers, experts and investors in the field of education. The speakers and visitors participations were efficient and attracting.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad Al-Saud Minister of Education, has paid a visit to the Exhibition where he met the exhibitor who briefed him about their institutions, and their activities.

Promotional Campaign
A professional business plan has been arranged to promote and launch the event through the most important promotional tools in the kingdom. It included the following: Newspapers: An advertisement for the event has been published in the most important local newspapers, which are: Alriyadh, Al Jazirah, Al Madina, Okaz, Al Yaum, Al Watan, Al Eqtisadia, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Al Hayat, and Arab News. Television: A distinctive television advertisement has been broadcasted 25 times a day on: Saudi Channel, Al Majd, Al-Arabiya, MBC, MBC Action. Radio: The promotional campaign used the most effective programs on MBC FM and Panorama stations to broadcast an advertisement 17 times a day. Outside Advertisements: The event advertisement has been displayed on the major bridges and streets in Riyadh. Direct Marketing Campaign: The campaign included sending 50000 E-mail message, and 50000 SMS, besides hiring telemarketing agents to contact senior figures and decision makers in education field in the Kingdom to confirm attendance. Social Websites: Acknowledging its role as mass media and communication tools, the campaign has launched several groups on social websites such as Facebook, Linkedin, Youtube and Twitter. Mailing Invitations: About 147000 invitations have been sent via regular mail, including 2000 invitations sent to high profile figures, decision makers in the government, faculty deans, governors,

education experts and education businesses. It also included 5000 invitation for the MOE employees and governmental and public sectors. School visits: 40 buses have been allocated to transfer school students of several stages to the Exhibition every day. Public relations: A distinguished press conference has been held with reporters, press correspondents and researchers to announce the Exhibition. There were also many interviews and meetings which had been held before, during and after the event, and had been broadcasted in local and regional media. The Website: An advanced website had been launched to enhance communication channels and to secure a database for the registered visitors, besides broadcasting all the events live on the website.
