FOOD NEEDED FOR OUR OHANA
ON NI’IHAU
The residents of Ni’ihau are without the basic staples since large waves have prevented the
landing of the barge since January. In addition, the island has suffered from a large fish “kill off”
from some unknown source and the Robinson helicopter is disabled. The people of Ni’ihau
need our help. Please join the Legislative Hawaiian Caucus and the Association of Hawaiian
Civic Clubs in donating the following items:
POI, DRY FISH, SUGAR, FLOUR, BREAD, DRY MILK, COOKING OIL, CEREAL,
OATMEAL, CANNED SPAM, CANNED PORK AND BEANS, CANNED CORN BEEF,
MAYONNAISE, SAIMIN, CANNED TUNA, CANNED VEGETABLES, CANNED FRUITS,
CANNED SARDINES, CANNED CHICKEN, CANNED BEANS, MUSTARD, CRACKERS,
JAM, JELLIES, TOILET PAPER, WASHING SOAP, TOOTHPASTE, SHAVING CREAM,
DIAPERS, FEMALE SANITARY NAPKINS, RAZORS, DEODORANT, BATHING SOAP.
DROP OFF YOUR DONATIONS AT THE STATE CAPITOL, MONDAY THRU THURSDAY (MARCH 9-
12), 7:30AM – 9:00AM ON BERETANIA STREET OR 9:00AM – 4:00PM, ROOM 405. MONETARY
DONATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AND USED TO PURCHASE FOOD. (MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO:
ASSOCIATION OF HAWAIIAN CIVIC CLUBS.
