My station sound: The station sound I have aimed for is an electronic feel, reflecting the sound of today, with

beats, bass and SFX. The new IDs all have a voice over, which is transformed through a process of EQ, Compression, Normalising and either flanger/ chorus or phaser. The SFX are very electronic sounding, with beats and bass IN TIME with the words. In a musical sense: ITS ALL ABOUT PHRASING AND REGULAR TIMING. What is station sound? Im responsible for the network sound, which means recording, editing and producing packages such as IDs and trails, to promote future programmes. As station sound producer I primarily think about on air branding and promotion. Theres quite a bit of scripting as well. Ive also got to record adverts for other companies. I work across the entire station, rather than on just one programme. Its more than just being good at an editing system, Ive got to combine technical skills with good music knowledge, writing skills, to write concisely and clearly. Generally, I am responsible for any *audio* that comes out of the station.
