1413-2 Games and Sports Shoe Tags


Create shoe shaped tags that can be used for a key ring decoration or to identify your sports bag.

Always cover your work surface with a mat or some type of protective covering like wax paper or plastic. Age Range: 7 to 12 Grade Range: 2 to 6 Skill Level: Moderate

Main Materials: Felt and sticky backed felt - OR - foam and sticky backed foam Pepperell Rexlace Plastic Lacing Split key ring Elmers Painters Markers

Basic Materials: Decorative edged scissors Scissors Acetate Small hole punch White paper Pattern

Instructions: 1. Use pattern to cut out foam pieces. Pattern piece number 1 should be cut out of sticky foam (make sure to mark the holes where the laces will go). Pattern piece number 2 should be cut out of non-sticky foam that it the same color as piece number 1. Pattern piece number 3 should be cut out of sticky baked white foam. 2. Cut a hole in piece number 1 (see photo). 3. Cut a circle a little bicker that the hole in piece 1 and write your name on it. Cut a piece of acetate the same size as the circle. 4. Stick piece number 1 onto the bottom of piece number 2. 5. Place the circle with the name on piece number 2 and place the acetate on top of that. Then place the sticky piece number 1 on the top of that, making sure the name shows through the hole. 6. Using a small hole punch. Punch out all 6 holes, going through both piece number 1 and 2. 7. Add a small strip of black sticky backed foam that has been cut out with zig zag scissors on top of the white foam. (See picture). 8. Add stitch lines with marker. 9. Fold in half approximately 1 yard of lacing. Begin at the front of the shoe and lace it up through the holes, crossing over for each hole to make an X pattern. Tie at the end and trim off excess. 10. Add split key ring to top hole.
